Tell me what makes your favorite artist better than the rest in your eyes! Not your top 3 or anything, but you're above all---favorite Asian artist!
For me...of course, Ayumi Hamasaki. =P Ayu inspires me in so many ways. Her lyrics talk about more than just love...it covers so many important topics that need to be discussed in the world...like racism as Ayu talked about in "walking proud"...and such. Ayu is more than just an artist to me; she's one of God's angels...trying to make a difference in the world...trying to touch lives -n- striving to better people's lives. Not only is her voice beautiful, but the words she's singing are too. Never is she shallow...never does a song of hers not have meaning. Also, she didn't have to take off her clothes to get popular; she just is for who she is. She's very down to Earth, very smart & wise, very passionate...more people should be like Ayu. Ayu is always Ayu; never gonna change. Her image may take a turn -n- try out different things, but on the inside...she's still Ayu. Beautiful, talented, inspiring Ayu. =) She's one of a kind!
That's why my most favorite artist is better than the rest in my eyes.

i would've said that ai-chin is my favourite asian artist if i was asked this questing about two months ago. but lately, YUI really has taken me with storm. her new album just amazed me, and her latest single was awesome too.
now, to why i like her so much. she's got a wonderful personality, and she's really funny. i sometimes see people saying that she smiles too seldom (what's that about?) or that she's not very talkative (which she isn't...) but when she does, she's often funny.  i really enjoy listening to her radio shows in which she allways sounds so happy that even though i don't understand everything i end up smiling all the time i listen to it. 
she's not trying to be a diva and she doesn't wear weird clothes. she's trying to be close to her fans, and just recently she had a street live performance to celebrate her turning 20. she seems to be a kinda normal girl doing what she loves, being lucky enough to have a lot of fans loving her for it.
her music is a great collection of both beautiful acoustic soft songs and faster, rockier songs (perfect for me). she really manages to blend her styles together, and she experiences with new and interesting styles. she's just 20, but even though she's so young, she's written all her songs and has a great musical talent as she doesn't just sing, but play both the acoustic and electrical guitar as well as the piano. and she's a good actor too (watch Taiyou no Uta).
plus the fact that i love to learn to play her songs on the guitar.  and that she's gorgeous.  |

What's so great about Ai and Arashi..?! humm..
besides the fact they sing great..or have a great voice 
produces great songs.. 
They're so cute!!
and starred in awesome dramas!!! |

| Well, my favourite asian artists are L'Arc~en~Ciel. I think that they are great for lot of reasons. at first, they are real legends of j-rock. all the 16 years of they career they make really great music-seamless blend of hard rock, soft rock, electronic music. also I like in them that they solo projects sound very interesting-hyde's religious hard rock, tetsu's pop, yukkie's electronic rock, but in band they sound even cooler. |

My favourites are all females: YUI, ayaka and of course, Ai-chin! 
I love how they are all songwriters, which is especially inspiring to me, since I like music a lot and all (and like AiAmBest, wants to be a singer next time if possible too). I find it more meaningful when they write their own lyrics and sing them with all their hearts rather than singing lyrics someone else wrote for them.
I love being able to play YUI's songs on the guitar, which makes the songs all the more personal to me. Ai-chin's live performances are just breath-taking, and ayaka has the kind of voice I want. The fact that they are all so gorgeous too makes me sooo jealous! |

Ai Otsuka: I think we all love her for same reasons: Her voice, cuteness, powerful performances, acting skills, her smile... Why should I explain you why I like her, when we all feel the same.
YUI: I really like what mangomalte wrote about her. It explains my feelings almost perfectly. I also love, that she´s acting like "I´m just a normal girl, maybe a little bit popular, but that´s all, so what´s so interesting about it". I also love her lyrics.
The GazettE: My actual boom. Ruki´s voice, Uruha´s and Aoi´s guitar solos, melodic heavy music, is just something incredible to me. I´ve listened to heavy music since I was 10. Than my J-Pop and Japan boom came and now I can have it both from 1 band: Nice melodic songs, multiple genres interestingly connected into one, great singer´s voice (that´s what I love about rock singers, they can sing both heavy and softly), and amazing live performances with music at the same quality as studio work. |

Currently my favourite is Hitomi Shimatani though I'm also a huge fan of Hamasaki Ayumi. Anyhow I really like Hitomi for countless reasons. I love her music since it's different from your typical J-Pop. I like how she experients with so many genres and how she always gives her utmost.
She has unique and spectacular vocals, a beautiful appearance which is so different from the kiddie-like artists around and also a spunky personality. It's always fun to see her interact with people. She always looks so natural and approachable. |

ehehhehe ^^ the reason why she's my ultime favourite would be because she's 2 me a natural beauty just like a fallLen angel may sound like cocky but thats how i look up 2 her like she was made for the singing industry a gifted girl yet stilL she's like normal u know she really like made her own style & her amazing voice & songs really make me want 2 cry sumtimes =( the meaning of it & how she brings it into the people & also that she had many struggels being a young singer and that she really had alot of pressure moments ='( that made her cry then u can really see that she isnt a fake atleast 2 me she ish =]

Mine is
Ayaka Like Ai-Chin, she is one of them to get my notice by storm. She have a powerful voice which i simply had been amazed with. She have a strong and sharp voice. Making her music so wonderful.
Otsuka Ai Clearly the winner in my heart. As she is the 1st j-pop artist to inspire me and brought to the j-pop world by her.
There is no reason that i will choose other singers to reign over her. I listen to her music the most, from 4 years ago till now. And with the time, follow me through all my happiness and sadness. So i feel like her music walk with my life. And she is going to be my favorite singer as long as i live. |

Well, to me is Ayumi Hamasaki. Ayumi don't talk just about love. She talk about feel pain, feel alone and other feeling. Ayu's lyrics always make me feel better and makes me wanna look up and keep walk...

she has one of the best voices i've heard. and insane voice control. i have only heard her take a somewhat false note once and that was when she was coughing or something. because of her amazing voice she can make simple songs like Jewelry day incredibly beautiful. she's got really high notes in my book. |

Ya,she has amazing control, which stills amaze me up to now. And i agree with you , not only her control is superb, her vocals are also excellent. Truly a singer than is found once in many years,maybe a decade? . Wow, this is the 1st time i heard a female singing with such strong voice except for misono which i also think so has a strong voice. But her control is not as great as Ayaka though. |

There are alot of artists I love but my favorite has to be BoA. She is one of the first J-Pop artists I listened to and shes made several amazing albums in both Japanese and Korean. She also has a wide variety of different sounding songs.

| My favorite is definitely Ai Otsuka. I love her music, especially her happy, bright, cutesy, songs. I also love her beautiful ballads . The fact that she writes and composes all her music and her piano skills really amaze me too. In addition, I like her cute image. |
