The only thing I don't really like about this theme is that the background is too bright! Makes my eyes ache. But otherwise, it's really cute. Love the banners, especially. And the fonts are much better too! Great job there eyn! Really organised, makes things much easier for me now. |

Actually I really like the CHU-LIP style - the colours are awesome, red and white together rocks. But I have to agree to the fact that the black quotes stand out... Well, but it's not too heavy
It's very well done, YAY for bigger fonts though I didn't had a problem with the font-sizes before.
... could happen that this will be my favourite forum style
(haha, and it's great that there is 'Loading...' while the browser is loading the site. I didn't notice this before |

^I agree with Roduri.
But I don't remember, Raid is the one that's the same as the Frienger one right?
Cause I think that template looks the best. |

Personally, I like this template, but probably just because I'm used to it. It's quite similar (if not the same) as the Planetarium one, which I've been using since...pretty much when I joined.
But I'm getting used to a few buttons moved or gone here and there, but nothing too dramatic.
Haha, the red is kinda BAM! but I still like it. And the quotes do stand out quite a bit, but if the quotes are small (people should learn to quote only what they need) then they aren't too obstructive. |

wow this is great! esp when my fav colour is RED. i love vibrant colours. haha! wonderful work!
i like the forum layouts very much as it really brings out the flavour of the song. as CHU-LIP is a wacky and crazy song, the heading pictures with tags like "i'm cute", "pwned", definitely fits the whole theme (my opinion)
then there's renai shashin, one of my fav where the layout consist of very sweet and soothing colours. i love your work eyn, keep it up! |

Cute layout! I like the red color. Bit for me, this isn't the best layout ^^
A question: What it mean ''pwned'' ? |

Nice! I've been waiting for the chu-lip forum ever since it came out, haha.
You, eyn, have made a lot of welcome changes to the forum style but didn't deviate too much from the stylings of channel-ai that I'm used to. The wider forum space is a good idea and seeings as I run 1280x800 resolution, it works for me. Other then the nifty little expand button, which I thought was a toggle button until I noticed my scroll bar creep up the side of my window, the other changes seem rather subtle but I'm sure I'll notice the changes when I see 'em.
Nice job as usual.
For the record, "the floor is clean" is my personal favourite.

Pwned is video gamer lingo also known as leetspeak or simply leet. The word comes from misspelling the word owned, which is slang for swiftly and easily defeating an opponent. (Notice the proximity of the 'O' and 'P' on your keyboard. Hope that helps.
Cool, just noticed the black quote box. Nifty. |

I'm glad most members are liking this style seeing it has become harder and harder to please you guys after making all these different forum styles, each with its own appeal in a way. I have to constantly think of what new elements I could put into the design and what could be changed to improve things. Turns out the new stuff introduced in this style has been very welcomed and pretty successful in general, which I'm glad.
Oh and for those who are hating the bright colour scheme and the red background, I really couldn't do much about that as I have to stay true to the official colour scheme and design. It is a challenge for me to style this "CHU-LIP" theme, I knew it when I first saw the "CHU-LIP" official site layout because it's so different and perhaps awkward in a way. It is not an easy task to put this style into a forum style, that's what I thought back then. Anyway, the result isn't sooo bad afterall, so I'm not too worried now lol.
Aprilis. wrote: Must comment on the quote boxes, they really stand out. And I'm not so sure that's a good thing... I mean, they are only quote boxes. Plus, it doesn't really match with the whole red and white theme.
keitaro wrote: If we quote just one or two lines, I am not very "shock", but if we quote a long message, the black is so important.
I do know the quote box stands out quite a bit, which is one of the thing I am experimenting with while styling the theme. Black is the colour I think of all of a sudden and decided to mess around with while making this, for example the navigation bar is black right now, I was using red before and it doesn't work that well IMO. I bet there's probably other colour combination that would work better, but then for most of the colour I tried they don't look so good together.
And regarding the huge contrast of the current quote style, I think KerushiiAi got the right idea on how one should look at this:
KerushiiAi wrote: And the quotes do stand out quite a bit, but if the quotes are small (people should learn to quote only what they need) then they aren't too obstructive.
Overquoting has always been an issue and people just have to start learning when to quote and when not to quote. Maybe I should talk a little about this here. If you are replying to the person directly above you, you could just use a simple "^" to indicate you are replying to the post above and skip the quote feature. And please, never quote the full post of another person (unless it's a short post), it's pointless to quote the whole post and make reply that refers to only one of the sentence. It is hard for other members to know "why" you are quoting in the first place. If you don't quote ONLY the sentence you want to reply, you might as well not quote at all because other members have to figure the "why" out when they shouldn't have to do it. Lastly, nested quotes should be avoided unless it's an absolute must to convey an idea.
KerushiiAi wrote: Ohh, I just noticed that the little "quick jump" thing isn't here
Sorry, I'm not using that feature myself that's why I didn't realize it's gone. I could bring it back later on, but then I have to figure out where to put it. I'm surprised though that all those tiny features of phpBB are used by someone in this forum, for example I almost never use the "View posts since last visit" feature, and a lot of people seems to rely heavily on that. Personally, I prefer going through each forum using the new post icon on the left hand side as an indicator for which topics has new reply that I haven't read. Just a personal preference though.
Lastly, thanks to everyone who has made a comment about this new forum style, that's what I need to make better theme in the future, and reading all these comment is fun for me, kinda like something I look forward to while I was making the theme. More feedback please, if you haven't said anything! |

Having made my own Ai site along the same color scheme lines, i'm more used to it than others may be.. So I like it a lot. The extra width is definitely appreciated! |
