Well, as I mentioned in the mumble thread, I finally finished my exam and is free enough to make the overdue "CHU-LIP" forum style. Takes me about 2 days to get this done, I used the "Renai Shashin" forum style as a base but added some new features this time, most of the changes are made to improve the XHTML markup and usability. Noob

So what's new? Nothing much, first the forum width is wider now, used to be 780px but now it's 860px. Since most users are no longer using 800*600 resolution, wider forum area means more information can be put into the screen. Boogie

There's also a newly added expand button above the post area that expands the height of the text box when clicked. This feature can also be found in "Renai Shashin" style but instead of having a separate button it is activated by double clicking in the text area. I personally found that less intuitive so I added an extra button for this function in this new style. Smile

Another notable changes is the visited link is now styled i.e. you can now visually identify which link you have visited and which link you have not. This works only for "post" links, but not "forum" links or "topic" links. You'll know how it works once you start clicking around. Wink

The last notable changes is the font-size is bigger now and they are now styled using "em" instead of "px". What this mean is that they are relatively styled and you could change the font size easily in IE. For Firefox, it has always been easy to change the font size even when they are styled using "px". For best browsing experience, I highly recommend you to use Firefox as this is the development platform I used while creating this forum style.

I think that sums up some of the changes of this new style. As usual, forum override will be active for the next few days, hopefully nobody gets annoyed by that. Tongue This "CHU-LIP" style will become the default forum style for now and I am not sure if we will get DMCA complaint again this time. If that happens I'll have to do something about it again. No

This forum style uses "Lucida Grande" as its default font and if you haven't installed this font, please download it from here and install it for best viewing experience. Nod To install the font, just copy the extracted .ttf file to:
Code:
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Enjoy this new forum style and if you have any suggestion or find any bugs, please post them here and let me know! Happy

I'm not a big fan of the all the red (too bright for my eyes) so I can't say this is my favourite theme. Hurray for wider screens and bigger fonts though!

Must comment on the quote boxes, they really stand out. And I'm not so sure that's a good thing... I mean, they are only quote boxes. Plus, it doesn't really match with the whole red and white theme.

Cool new board style! Wow, but my eyes are gonna need time to adjust from the black and orange from Planetarium to bright white and red! Laughing But I really like it, thanks a lot, eyn. Smile
The bigger font size is definitely a plus I think. Nod And the wider style fits my widescreen much better, so thanks for that. Nod Keep up the good work! Wink

EDIT: Ohh, I just noticed that the little "quick jump" thing isn't here...like, a little scroll down bar at the bottom of the page that let's you quick jump to a different section...well, it's on Planetarium, and I made heavy use of it, and now it's gone. Sad But I still like this style. Nod

Nice! I was using the Planetarium layout too so I was kinda blind for a moment changing from the very dark theme into this red one. This theme is not the most favourite one for me but it's the most comfortable and users-friendly one IMO, as the font is bigger and the buttons easily found. I like the previous themes but their font is sometimes really small. Smile So now I'm gonna use this layout. It freshens me. Hurray! You're awesome, eyn! Boogie

A little bit out of subject, Firefox is really better than IE. Though my own site is best viewed on IE7. It's very hard to deal with different browsers at the same time. Several days ago I used the computer in my university which had IE5 and all the display was distorted... Shocked

Great layout. I think I prefere renai sashin theme because is less flashy but You did a good job.

Just one "negative point" (in my opinion) : blockquotes. The color (black) is so dark. It cerat a very very big contrast. If we quote just one or two lines, I am not very "shock", but if we quote a long message, the black is so important.

Ok, and I would like to add (even if it's not the correct place) I have sometines somme "error 500" more and more since 1 week.

Congratulations eyn for finally finishing your exams Smile
But now finally back to the topic. The new theme...
it's absolutely great compared to the other one's since the forum width is wider now.
And somehow the color's are very pleasant to my eyes and the whole look is
very different but fresh as the same time, i might say i specially enjoy the header
'the floor is clean* Giggle You never let us down on these new layouts for the forum very nice.
