It seems that there are many people who believe that there are too many bad role models nowadays, but which ones would you say are really good?

Mine are,

Ai Otsuka, of course Lol,
Jet Li,
Jackie Chan,
Bruce Lee,
Arnold Schwarzenegger,
Sylvester Stallone,
Michael Jordan,
Tiger Woods,
Thomas Edison,
President Franklin Roosevelt,

and most importantly, my parents, friends, and ancestors (although you wouldn't know them. Lol.), although, Ai is sort of on an equal level. Lol.

I don't really have a role model, but if I had to choose it'd probably be Keiko Kitagawa. =)

My biggest role model is by far Ayumi Hamasaki. Has showed me a lot of important things in life.
Then there are loads of others. Steve Irwin is an excellent role model who has taught me to live life fully, enjoy it but still respect the environment. David Attenborough is yet another role model which I admire so much.
Eleanor Roosevelt's words have also impressed me at a deep level and have inspired me.
Finally some actors have a pretty awesome attitude. Who can beat Steven Seagal's badass attitude or Eva Longoria's sexy and confident attitude? Tongue

Keiko is love, but I don't see her as a role model.

And truth be told, I don't think I can narrow my role models to a simple list because there's no single person that has made the big impact in my life. Rather, I learn from everyone that I know.

^Really? There was this interview I read in ST that made me really look up to her. I just liked her as a fashion model before that. But heck everyone thinks differently~ :D and yeah true, there isn't one specific person that had a major impact in my life ;P

I don't have a role model neither...but Ai is a good option, she's singer, actress, songwriter and producer, draws nice, plays the piano...etc, etc...xD

I haven't thought about this much. Lately with people in the college generation many people I know just seem to complain about how crappy their life is and never stop to think about important people before them.

I'll start my list, I don't guarantee I finish it...

-Parents.
Fairly obvious right? I'm glad you made me stop to think about how important they are for me just now.
-Grandparents.
In particular, my late grandfather. He was probably the most ideal role model I will ever have because he was such a wonderful person.
-Most of my uncles and aunts.
Unfortunately, there are a few uncles who do NOT set a good example for me to follow. Otherwise most of my uncles and all my aunts are respectable, good role models.
-Some of my friend's parents.
I meet them and they just seem so cool yet so responsible. When I'm there sometimes I even feel like they are better than my own parents. (But I wouldn't trade...that'd be too bizarre)
-My manager/co-managers/supervisors at work.
I'm really thankful to everyone who I answer to at work. Since coming to college I haven't really had anyone like my older relatives to look up to as a role model. Well pretty much everyone falling in this category is so cool and so nice and such a great inspiration.

Later I might add people I do not personally know. But for now I will stick with this list.

I do love Ai Otsuka a lot, but I won't call her a role model per se. I guess a role model for me is a person who really inspires me and motivates me. For now, I haven't found a single person who has been able to do that for me, not even my parents.

Ayumi Hamasaki. Anyone who has read her full biography will probably agree.
Her faliures didn't hinder her success. But she had the best chances ever. So maybe she had an extra boost, but who cares?
I love the way she is. The way she makes things outrageous and doesn't give a damn to what people think or say.
Ai Otsuka. She inspired me with her live on-stages. She is so full of life and energy and is more than willing to share it with the audience. She enjoys heself rather than just presents herself on stage. I wish I was like that.
And some random people I know. But I won't bore you with the details.

I have different role models for different attitudes or goals.

My role model for my work is Naoko Yamazaki who is singular Japan Space Agency female astronaut, she is engineer like me and she will help to install JAXA laboratory to International Space Station.

My role model for music is fine folk singer and guitarist YUI, she sings and plays from her heart sincerely, this is wonderful to me and I will do the same.

My role model for wonderful life is Reiko Chiba who overcame sickly youth to become actress, singer, idol, model, internet pioneer and teacher, founder of Ladies Internet Project, technical and marketing consultant on internet applications to many companies, also mother of young boy and health expert, writer, yoga instructor. She is inspiration because she is both artistic and technical, as I wish to be.
