LIVE EARTH concert shall be held on 7th July and will begin in Sydney and continue across several nations [US, UK, Brazil, China, Australia, South Africa, Japan] The US show will close off this event. In Japan two concerts are set to take place: a daylong concerts will be held at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo as the main venue of the event, and in addition , a special concert event to be held in Kyoto, where the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was adopted.
LIVE EARTH is the first event of the SOS campaign, a global project to combat the climate crisis launched by Al Gore, former U.S. vice president and author of "An Inconvenient Truth", a documentary movie which aimed to publicize the dangers of climate crisis, and Kevin Wall who won an Emmy as Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8 for supporting eradication of poverty in Africa.
The global concerts will convey the message “SOS SAVE OUR SELVES” and will reach 1 million people in the event audiences and 2 billion people will watch and listen through TV, Internet and radio.
The proceeds from the “LIVE EARTH” concerts will create the foundation for a multi-year global effort to combat the climate crisis led by The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, Al Gore.
Japanese artists which are confirmed to perform are Koda Kumi, Ai Otsuka, Cocco, RIZE, RIP SLYME, Yellow Magic Orchestra and Genki Rockets

| Thanks for the news!! I love it when Ai participates in these music festivals.... She's also performing at EXCITE again this year as far as I know. |

I think this time she'll only stay in Japan, unfortunately. But who knows maybe she'll get another opportunity. The official site has been updated with the news of Live Earth too.

the fact that ai is choosen is great. what makes me more surprise is, this is for our earth. i love what the theme for.
btw, i know "an inconvenient truth", but unfortunately that time i didn't spend my time to watch it. |
