My favourite actors are Shun Oguri, Sorimachi Takashi, Inoue Mao and Itoh Misaki. Well they are for now, probably in a month or two some of them have changed again since my favourites change all the time  . |

Ryoko Hirosue, but after her ironic fall from grace you don't see much of her except in low-budget B list movies  Coincidentally, the song Renai Shashin was written for a remake of a movie with the same name which happened to star Ryoko, further pushing her into obscurity (it was a great movie except for the ending). I'm gonna go watch some more Summer Snow now. |

She's one of my all time fav. Looks good, and really puts in emotions on acting. She isn't that bad as you say though, 8-10 years back when J-Culture hit Asia she was the top female Japanese artist that everyone talked about, just that she lost the popularity as times pass with new stars rising and her marriage.
My fav Drama from her is Dekichatta Kekkon (Shotgun Marriage). How can anyone not impressed by her good acting in that one haha. Such a touching/heartwarming show by her. |

You guys should really delve into some retro drama from the 90s.
I'd go as far as to say that it was the golden age of Japanese drama with some of the greatest actors and characters ever.
I think my favourite Japanese drama actors are Kouji Tamaki and Hiroyuki Sanada for their parts in Konna Koi no Hanashi.
That series was so beautiful, and their characters were some of the most sincere and realistic I've ever seen. |
