Actually, the way he talks and what he says could actually be him like... reminiscing but acting like he's talking to her, know what I mean? So I kinda thought of it as Ai being a ghost, and she's following the guy she liked, like the fireworks at the end were ones he did in honor of her and she fades when she tries to kiss him since she's a ghost. But that's just my two cents~ ^^" |

eh...... I can't believe someone hasn't translated it yet...
I bought the overseas CD+DVD version of LOVE JAM, and they provide a chinese translation of all the things that are said... if people express enough interest I'll translate it.... if it hasnt already been done so.
I think some people will find it boring, but people who can appreciate artistic pieces will like it.... It was so nice... 'Kingyo Hanabi' was greatly implemented and mixed with the scenes.....
The melancholy feel and sense of everlasting sorrow was so intriguing... That guy is so lucky to have Otsuka after him... |

But the version that wanders the web is subtitled right? o.o
I have it for ages with subtitles and each time I see it uploaded somewhere its that very subtitled version. |

besides I think most of us learnt of Ai by downloading stuff, and sad thing most poeple continue doing so T_T support Ai people! |

My theory is that she turns invisible not because she is a ghost, but because her feelings fade,
I think it symbolizes the dying goldfish she is singing about. ("its life lasts just one summer")
If the goldfish represents her feelings (which she had last summer; he says in the movie "it has been quite a while hasn't it?"), the next summer she meets him the feelings start to fade. And at the end they're all gone.
it is the same in the pv; the ai under water is the feelings fading.
the pv and short movie are somewhat resembling each other sometimes. |

This film was so beautiful. And not only Ai  the cinematography was really good. Sometimes it really hurts to watch pictures like that; When the picture say more than simple words.

the short film is really great, the music matches the film sooo perfectly! expecially the fireworks part, ai is sooo cute there!  the whole ai being silent theme also adds a deeper meaning to the whole film, possibly it could have been that she was afraid of saying something wrong, or unable to speak |

I think you are right. Just put it in this way, her disappearance implying the fade of her feelings...
But one thing is, she was trying to kiss him. So if her feelings faded, would she ever kiss him?
That is quite contradicting aint? |

| I liked this short film....I didn't get it when she tried to kiss him in the end either.....since the guy talked to her I knew she wasn't a ghost.... I also agree with the whole "feelings fading away" thing.... it makes sense.... or maybe the fact that she was never really there in the first place..and the guy was pretending she was there........ |

Yes!
She also says she grew fond of him, and gathered love thoughts.
If she was to kiss him maybe her feelings would have gone stronger?
In the pv the guy is also ignorant in the situation, were she tries to hold his hand and he doesnt notice and just gets up and go.
In the movie the guy has a girlfriend, so maybe ai had to let her feelings fade! |
