It's not that far away. Disneyland is in Orange County.....

Buts its not alot of distance. |

what is little tokyo like? are there lots of stores, or is it small? how about the anime and manga goods, are they cheaper there? i hope they're cheaper, because they're so dang expensive everywhere else!

KerushiiAi: It's not really big, but there's some good stores I like going to to buy accesories & etc. from.....some plazas, I go to their Kinokuniya.
And of course, FOOD. SUSHI! sushi bars...hehee
you'll see perfs from some people, NOT famous.....>.< but you will see Japanese peoples there of course!
Oh and they have festivals there too[: They had the Tofu festival, but didn't go haha.
They are going to have some fest soon, and a modern geisha from Kyoto, Japan is comming! I saw her pic.....wowies. haha
There's a place in Chinatown(its so close to Little Tokyo//J-Town) at Bamboo Plaza theres a place called Neotype. They have manga there and anime. I go there for cute pencils.
this is so off topic, but....hahaa |

it is a little off topic, but hey, i asked, right?
it's sounds so wonderful! *drools* ok, i'm not gonna drool, but you get the point
if i tell my mom that, maybe it'll convince her to bring me...
the manga is in english right? i don't know other languages
i almost bought these really cute marmalade boy pencils at a con last september, and you can't find marmalade boy stuff anywhere i assume because it's kinda old... but anyway, i didn't get them because i'd be afraid to use them!
...
...
and food sounds nice...
yeah, i'll show this to my mom, and maybe she'll be convinced!
thanks for all your help!
by the way, i'm not too far away from LA, just a state or two...at least i'm in the same time zone! |

haha, yeah.
Yes, if you buy at Neotype in Chinatown its english, Little Tokyo has in Japanese, but I think they might have English I didn't really look. I normally look in magazine sections of the Kinokuniya, But the kinokuniya has a big manga section.
ehhh?? No Marmalade Boy stuff?? Well, I haven't seen the pencils or anything, but I've seen manga. I bought a couple at NEOTYPE, but the are $9.99 each so I stopped buy after buying 5 of them.
I decided to use on other stuff. hehee |

yeah, i have the marmalade boy manga (all 8 of them! )
but most of the volumes(if not all) are out of print, so whatever they have there is probably left over from when it was in print.
in japan, i belive it started the year we were born
in one of the books(i think v.2) miki is wearing a sweatshirt that says 1992 on it!
and you can also see the hideousness of 90's fashion.
aren't all manga (basically, give or take a few) 9.99?
at least they are where i live...
it might be good to buy one manga volume in japanese, as a study guide, you know?
i almost did at an anime con i went to, it was negima, and it was only like 5 bucks or something!
cheap!
why does manga have to be so expensive? |

KerushiiA:Yea, I think it was out in 1992.
Old fashioned clothing, the biggish sweat shirts and those jeans that were tightish. ekkk!
lol
Yeah, all manga is 9.99 some are 9.95.....but I have money now! But I don't feel like reading any manga now a days....
I know, why must manga be so expensive?!
manga....mango.....yum. |

the horror! whenever i watch a movie from the 90's or see pictures, i always wanna(sometimes i do ) yell "untuck your shirt!" or something like that. highwaters with a tucked in button up shirt with a solid fat stripe running horizontally around it. how attractive
80's fashion wasn't that great either
my friends and i all read manga, and whenever one of us buys one, we read it, then pass it around among each other. 'cause theyre so expensive!
the japanese ones are cheaper, english ones are more expensive probably because they have to pay the translation staff too
mangoes are always fun |

Why do we not have Little Tokyo in Singapore? Ah, but oh well, we do get a lot more compared to USA when it comes to Japanese stuff, so I guess I should be satisfied! Oh, and manga is pretty cheap here, and the Chinese versions always come pretty fast. |

HAHA! yeah I know!
Their shirts are tucked in and the are SUPER high at your belly button or maybe above it!
Then it's ALWAYS a thick fat belt wrapped around the waist!
ANd the hairstyles....... Either whipped up like a mold or fluffyish. OR kinda like a shell on your head, It's just straight at the bottm, no layering or anything. How good looking is that? |
