^ i liked otoshimono. it wasn't bad imo.
a movie with Erika that disappointed me was Shinobi, but not because the movie was bad or that Erika was bad (they were both great), but because Erika was barely in it.

anyone seen this comedy show where a comedian (Akiba Kanpe) goes to one of Erika's live events and stands in the audience and shows her funny pictures on a board and other stuff to make her laugh while she's being interviewed? it's really funny. Giggle

Oh really? Hmm, I might watch it and see lol. I don't know, I'm not much of a horror fan either...I might try it when I get brave/devoted enough (which ever comes first haha)
I'll check the video out tomorrow morning...my download limit resets tomorrow!! Boogie

sorry to say that i was one of those who u mentioned. Now i feel it doesnt really matter though. Being a gravure idol is still ok, there are a lot of them got famous in acting/singing careers regardless their pass as 1000 times worst than a gravure idol (you know what i am saying).

btw, otoshimono = Ghost tunnel? I know she acted in that movie, aired in my country last time. I didn't manage to watch it since i rarely watch movies when i busy in university. Saw that dvd yesterday but i am too poor to buy it...

ah well... i thought i forgot to mention that was my friend who said like that. i apologize.

ow really, it's aired in your country. i see, malaysia quite often airing japanese movie.

hey chill, i was not mad over it, just telling the truth. My country shows a lot of japanese and korean drama on the tv / pay tv but too bad i don't have time to watch at all. Too busy with my uni studies. I don't watch tv basically, only dl stufss to watch since it's more flexible in terms of my time management.

Is erika's coming single classified as her 2nd or 3rd album? I'd prefer to call it a 2nd ones since taiyounouta isn't released under her name. Besides, instead of the name "ERIKA', i'd prfer her full name "Erika Sawajiri" used instead.

^ I guess it'd be called her second single under the name ERIKA. It doesn't really matter that much does it? I mean, she'll still get all the benefits from it.

On a much more negative note, does anyone know whats been going on with her lately? Apparently just because she had a bad mood at one of the premiere's for Closed Note, all of a sudden the public in Japan is out to crucify her. I think that is probably one of the most stupid and outrageous things I've ever heard. It seems like Japan is still quite a way behind in accepting celebrities as people.

"Woah, she's upset...she's an actress! She can't do that! Let's get her!"

Anyway, I found that quite distressing. Not just for her, but because if the public opinion of her goes down, then she will no longer be featured in many dramas/movies and that would be a pure waste of talent. People already don't want to watch Closed Note just because she's acting in it. Oh well, I'm still gonna continue supporting her. She really doesn't seem like a bad person.

If anyone wants to read get more information, once again you can go to http://erika-fantasy.blogspot.com/ or http://www.erika-sawajiri.net

I like Erika in "1 Litre of Tears", but I guess ever since she became famous her attitude has gone worse. Her attitude at the movie's premiere is just unbearable IMO (here's the video). She totally forgotten who makes her big in the first place and show no respect towards the event and the host that was asking her question. I think suspension would be a good punishment for her, at least it gives her some time to cool down and think again if she can continue to have her attitude like that, as an entertainer. As a celebrity, she certainly has to learn how not to bring her own emotion to others especially in big events such as the movie premiere. Japan is a country that takes politeness very seriously so I can totally understand why they react so heavily against Erika's rudeness during the premiere.

Well, just my 2 cents. Overall, I really think she is extremely rude during the premiere, both towards the organizer and towards her co-worker who definitely feel awkward about the situation. Imagine yourself standing next to the grumpy Erika who refuse to answer any question. No

Hmm, while she may have been getting a little arrogant, a simple attitude problem should not immediately result in suspension, especially for a year. If she were caught giving out a bad example (eg Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton etc etc etc) then I would probably agree with her being fired, even.
Humans make mistakes. Sure, politeness is one of Japan's most highly held values, and Erika definitely had no right to simply ignore the hosts and live in her own world, but the public's desire to crucify her like that is a little too much. While one cannot just let this event slide, (she still has to learn) for Japan to betray their idol in the blink of an eye is just not fair.
I just hope she DOES learn from this and not make this same mistake ever again.

just looked at the video.... :O yeah, that wasn't very pleasurable to watch.
i just can't understand why she's doing it. it's certainly not going to raise her popularity by acting like that.

and btw... she looks awful in that hair...

omg, i was about to stand up for her before i watch the video on youtube. Yes i did read about this on the newspaper, i guess she just wasn't feel well, maybe. But i didn't expect it to be this bad. She was really arrogant i've to say, no matter how much i like her. She was promoting her new movie as an artist. As an artist she has the responsibility to present her bright side to the public. I think no matter what happens or even if the sky collapses, she still can't behave in this way. I feel so sorry for her, she is spoiling her reputation that she's building all this time. Hope she can learn a lesson and get over it.

Turns out Erika confirmed she wasnt suspended which is good news Boogie

May she never do something stupid again... Nod

Edit: Here's a 1 minute preview of "Destination Nowhere" if anybody is still interested. http://www.mediafire.com/?6n1v9wdzifw

Also, "Closed Note" is currenly second on the Toho Cinema website. Despite all the negative publicity and all the "I'm not gonna watch it because Erika is in it", her movie is still doing quite well. Also, all the tickets (5000 of em) at the Pusan International Festival were sold out for "Closed Note". The staff say that only 10 films managed to achieve this in the past 12 years. Still seems to be looking good so far...

She might as well enjoy whatever success can come to her now. Who knows who'll even book her next after that show she put on.

Big fan of her, her FREE poster is hanging on my wall right now.

All the bad media and rumormongering doesn't detract from her talent and potential in the drama industry (I have to admit her singing isn't that great). While being a total douche probably won't endear you to the fans, recent celebrities have rebounded from negative media attention to even greater popularity (Heidi + cocaine?). I'm not condoning her actions but keep in mind that if you're famous your every move is subject to criticism and analysis, and that's a lot of pressure.

Typical in Japan: audience does not respond in manner encouraged by negative media. Always entertainers are targets for shocking media, this is how such useless publishing companies are justify their existence, but mostly audience opinion is made by audience themselves.

Japanese people like to be very much close to our entertainers, we understand them as complete people who participate in normal human life as we do, they are not distant roles. Notice: when unusual situation happens, Erika writes directly to us? not only make statement to interviewer. We shall lose interest in entertainer only if they do not allow this feeling of personal relationship.

This incident was just blown out of proportion. Sure she needs an attitude fix but they made a completely big deal out of it. It really irritates me how the media expect the celebrities, particularly females not to show any emotion. She's not a robot and maybe she was feeling upset or sick. However I hope she takes it as a lesson. The media already does come up with the most shocking and dumb rumors to sell and she really shouldn't be making the situation worse.
