I ordered from HMV because it was cheaper and they use FedEx which is more reliable than crummy postal service(I think I read it right...>.>)
Does HMV still offer FedEx? I live in Canada too and I think they've switched to EMS quite a while ago because I always receive my via EMS |

all this talk about HMV and nobody yet has mentioned that they are selling the Limited Special Edition for ¥4,493... (if you buy another 25% off DVD as well). not a hard decision for me. there about a dozen more DVDs i want.
if anyone else does this, don't choose the Ai am BEST Tour 2007 DVD as your second one. the Special Edition of this is still cheaper at YesAsia (with free shipping). |

Awww man. Just placed preorder for love piece at yesasia for US$61.75. Do you reckon it's too expensive? I ordered the first press limited one. is the one hmv offer first press limited as well?
Forgive my ignorance, anybody knows what is the different between first press limited and normal one? |

HMV offers both versions.
pon pon is indeed referring to the Limited Special Edition being sold at a significant discount.
Personally, I always consider shipping costs to be part of the overall item price.
YesAsia mostly does free shipping and once you add in the shipping costs at other retailers, the prices only differ by several dollars.
My HMV pre-order of the Tour DVD (Limited ver. of course) w/ shipping totaled about $57 USD -- high, but still under the original retail price. Good enough for me.
Regarding the difference between versions, I direct you to the OP.
I know I've gotten a tad behind dealing with life stuff, but we work hard to make sure the OP's of main threads are updated with pertinent info that comes to light. It's always a good idea to check there first for easy answers. |

Hmmm, $4 difference, not a big deal I suppose. Do you happen to know the shipping cost of HMV? and what shipping service they provide? I know someone mentioned about Fedex and EMS. Fedex is tad better than yesasia "free" airmail cus it's courier service.
OP says Special Edition = Limited First Press Edition!. Does it mean special ed. is limited stock?
I understand I am best live concert or other live concert usually has 2 ed, normal(1dvd) and special(2 dvds). From my understanding, however, the special is not limited press. Correct me if i'm wrong.
I also expected there are more than this 'special' Limited First Press Edition! has to offer:
Quote:
Special Edition = Limited First Press Edition!
¥5,990
• Disc 1: Live Concert (as above)
• Disc 2: "Special Movie Disc" featuring 'MC Collection,' backstage video, etc.
• Photobook (40 pages)
• Digipak Case |

HMV now *only* uses EMS, most likely to save us more money. This page gives shipping cost info for EMS out of Japan by destination and weight.

Yes, I wrote both titles for clarification.
At the time, I posted the breaking news in the body of the thread.
This release is not the same as her previous DVD releases (unlimited Standard 1-disc & Special 2-disc). The Official Site calls the two versions "初回受注限定生産盤(DVD2枚組・豪華デジパック仕様)" and "通常盤(DVD1枚)" which translates to 'First-Time-Ordered Limited Edition Pressing (2 DVD Set - Gorgeous Digipak Format)' and 'Normal/Standard Pressing (1 DVD),' respectively.
The way the information is written up deviates from all past bulletins regarding First Press bonuses. Usually the bonus is listed below, with the term, "初回特典," literally 'First Time Privilege.' This time, they've combined the Special Edition (that we're used to seeing run alongside the Standard Edition) with a First Press Version.
I suppose one could interpret the info of the bulletin to mean that a 'Regular' Special Edition will be forthcoming afterwards. However, considering the existence of the 2 DVD Set being listed *with* the Digipak it seems highly unlikely.
We can most likely assume this is all about the money. By combining Special & Limited/First Press Editions, avex can get fans to shell out even more money for the product while not having to split costs later down the line as they continue to produce two different versions of the same DVD. Plus, a desirable Limited Edition always means a big rush in sales upon initial release, thereby guaranteeing a higher spot on debut sales charts.
What 'more' were you expecting of the release, vaah? |

Buy something else and the shipping will be the same. Ordering only one item off CDJapan or HMV is such a pointless expedition because shipping is crazy for one item. |

Yeah, I know. That's what I usually do with CDJapan.
But that order was placed right when Pre-Ordering became available. It's too much of a hassle to try to add anything else now... Anyways, there's isn't really anything else I'd want from them that would work, shipping-wise...
Like I said, I'm okay with that price. Don't worry about me. |

Shipping in HMV for me was 1200 yen...according to AiiR, the shipping changed to EMS............and i just took a look at the prices........their so-called "switch to EMS so its cheaper" doesnt make it cheaper...its the bloody same -_-
I have my reasons why I bought it from HMV instead of CDJapan anyways...even though its cheaper, Canada has their ways on checking packages and charge a custom, if I actually bought it in CDJapan, I would have to pay way more >.>....cheaper is better in my case |

| ^But still, HMV's EMS is much cheaper than CDJapan's EMS. CDJapan tries to make money off you with shipping. If you ordered two items of HMV it's still 1200 yen. |
