LOL. That PV makes me laugh. Yeah, like most people said, I don't her voice suits the song or PV much. =/ I mean, it just sounds weird! I could imagine Ai singing this song and it would probably sound much better. Yeah, the beginning reminded me of CHU-LIP, too, with the cows! XDDD
I think her eyes and nose is somewhat similar to Ai's. But I think Ai has cuter and more dreamy eyes. =P And her hair style is somewhat similar to Ai's.
@sljinu: YEAH! I've seen videos of that Miracle Utada girl. She does remsemble A LOT of Utada. What's even more scary is she sounds 90% like Utada! O_O
There was also this Thai person/singer (?) who looked like Ai too. She was up on YouTube. I forgot where I found the video. |

I really don't like it and thats all i want to say
I dont even think she looks like Otsuka Ai, that opinion looks like the one of: "every japanese person looks alike"
I don't think so |

| @sweet_honeydew: I looked her up on youtube again and she looked a little old >< however I do remember looking at one talk show where she dressed up as Utada Hikaru from the PV of Traveling and there was hardly any distinction between them...they seriously were alike...unfortunately I can't find that video anymore |

She sounds nothing like Ai, her style is completely different.
No, it does not sound like CHU-LIP at all. Not even slightly.
CHERRY LYDER happens to be one of my favourite new artists and seeing you guys be mean about her for no apparent reason is disgusting.
So shut up, all of you.

That cow song just made me go "......wth?"
It's called "humour". |

| ^ I don't see what you are getting so worked up for. You may not think it sounds like CHU-LIP, but perhaps other people do. Same thing in terms of style. How do those opinions automatically boil down into being "mean" about her? Sorry, but I just don't see what anyone has done wrong. |

@davedim: Yeah, we're not trying to put her down or anything, we're just simply comparing her "similarities" to Ai. And of course, as this forum is a Otsuka Ai based forum, most likely fans will look down on her a bit. But maybe you're taking this thread a little too serious? I agree that she may have her own unique style of music, but from that PV, I just don't think her voice is suited for singing such type of songs. However, I don't know anything about this artist, so I can't really say much about her singing or music style. But I don't think anyone in this thread has said anything too offensive towards that singer.
@sljinu: Yeah, I think she is older than Hikki. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdnvIzsSTC0 |

Maybe I overreacted, but still, some people are being overly critical here.

So basically, what you're saying is that to like one artist, you have to put down all others?
There's nothing wrong with preferring Ai but calling other artists imitators and implying that their music is ridiculous just gets to me.
I see it way too much on J-pop forums especially. People bitching about artists just because they don't like their particular style.
Seriously, if you have nothing nice to say, then why say it?
Nobody cares if you personally think a certain artist's voice is annoying or whatever other problems you might have with them. Give your opinion, sure, but don't be nasty about it.
Some people just have nothing better to do with their time.

It was more the "what the hell" comment that got to me than anything else.
I'll admit that most of the people in this thread are innocent of doing that, and so my "shut up, all of you" comment was a bit much, but my point still stands. |

Hmm...I can see why people think they look alike, but after watching the PV....ehh....
I mean, Ai has the genuine, adorable kooky-ness about her. Her voice fits and the way she acts...
This Cherry girl just doesn't...entertain(?) me the way Ai does (kind of weird way to word this, I'm not trying to seem hard to please and/or turned on by Ai or anything) but maybe it was just the song. I'm not about to go out of my way to learn more about her, though. |

No, I'm not saying that. What I meant is because most people on this forum are Ai fans, so they would most likely prefer Ai, right? Or well, with their biased opinion to think that Ai is better than her. But just my honest opinion, I don't think her voice or the way she presented herself in that PV was all that appealing like what parasol said, that she didn't quite fit well with the song. Like she doesn't look happy or cheerful at all while singing it, while Ai really brings out the fun and hyperness in her songs like "SMILY" and "PEACH" which makes them very enjoyable to watch, even when I sometimes think the PV is a bit hideous at times. |

Wow.
Ok, I don't think she looks that much like Ai...and it's not exactly something she can help if she just happens to look like someone, right? She shouldn't have to get cosmetic surgery to avoid being called an imitator.
That being said.
I actually liked the video. I could watch it all day! It was hilarious, I thought. The cows were amazing. And I love how she had the same straight expression throughout the whole thing, even though there was all these crazy shenanigans going on behind her.
I don't think you can compare her to Ai really...their styles are pretty different and their voices are even more different. I think they're both talented in their own way, and as long as they provide good clean entertainment for me, I have no objections.
Moonald's...ahahahaha! |

She doesn't look too much like Ai, but the cows in the PV were pretty fantastic.
Actually, on the subject of Ai imitators, Akane Osawa has done a few monomane of Ai. Such as "SMILY" and "Frienger". Junichi Komoto also did his own 'monomane' of "Sakuranbo". |
