Mmm that's why I sometimes get overseas version for chinese translations... I only know random words and phrases here and there in Japanese. |

I think I understand a good majority. Even if it does irritate me and I have to listen to Ai's songs on repeat and brush up more on reading Japanese. |

I usually don't care about the lyrics since I'm not a literature kind of person, if that make any sense. I believe the most important part of music is the sound of it and how everything flows together, even when I'm listening to Chinese pop music very seldom will I pay attention to the usually dumb lyrics. With that said, pretty ballads almost always demands good lyrics to create the magic.
So no I don't feel wasted at all. For those of you who do, we have a group of dedicated fans who always do the best translation of Ai-chin lyrics so you can make sense of all of her songs. If you ever benefited from those translation, remember to say thank you to these awesome, selfless fans. |

maybe we all could better feel with ai if we would understand her lyrics, but i think it's enough to just listen to her songs and feel with the melody and her voice ( and if you watch a PV as well with the "pic" ) , and if you're cunfused or just want to know what she's singin, you still can read a translation |

That's what my friends always ask me, "Why do you like that japanese song? Do you even understand it?" and whenever do that, I feel mad. Music is not just about lyrics. If it's just about the lyrics of a song, then Instrumental songs won't exist. My answer to the thread's question is: No. For me, melody comes first cos no matter how much good the lyrics is, if I don't like the melody , I don't think I'll like it.
The first song I've heard from Ai-chan was Planetarium and from just the melody, you could immediately tell that the song is beautiful. That's how talented she is. =) |
