| i think it should be about S$1000 + - , last time when i bought the ps2 it was about S$700 |

$399 is still a lot of money!
PS2 is $299.99 in Canada right now
but PS3 might be better
but it costs same as ipod @_@

Hmm serious? Cause its only $150 US in Australia 
Ps3 or Ipod, doesnt really matter since ps2 has great games already. LOL i bet it will drop down in price in 2 weeks! |

they'll be having PS3 now.. owo;
but all the ps are kind f same.. does the same things.. 
mm maybe not.
bet the company makes lots of money..
but i dont think anyonw would buy it if its above 1000 singapore dollars..  |

We'll it will probably 400 dollars but think about it guys....Microsoft and Sony are really heated up. The only reason the 360 came out much earlier than the ps3 is because microsoft is trying to get ahead of the game. But the discipline japanese folks at good ol' Sony are taking their time and it will probably and so far what they have released, will be much better than the 360. But..Sony might put it as cheap as $300 . This is cause they want to get more sales. But we'll see.  |

I thought i post this here becouse this is the ps3 thread.
First of all those who might wonder when ps3 is released Sony has Reconfirmed that the Spring 2006 is the release year/month for PS3.
Currently the PS3 is still on target to be released in Japan in Spring of this year.
~ *PR Rep from Sony had this comment to say "We cannot comment on analyst reports. At the present, we're aiming for a Spring 2006 launch, just as planned." A SCE PR agent also adds "If we cannot finalize the specifications, we cannot release the PS3," also "We're currently waiting until the last minute for the specifications to be finalized." When he was asked what would Sony do if they did decide to delay the PS3 due to specifications finalizations he had this to say "We'd end up selecting the best time and releasing it. However, we cannot comment yet.

I'd be amazed if it cost more than the 360. Sony will take a huge loss on it (like MS with both XBoxes) but will make it back on the software etc.
However, in my opinion the PS3 has another pupose, to get a Blu Ray drive into as many houses as possible. If this succeeds then it will put Sony in a very strong position in the HD DVD vs Blu Ray war which must be as important, if not more so, than the console war.
Also, with the compatibility between the PSP and PS3, it'll sell a few PSPs as well so I don't think they need to give it a silly price (I hope  ). |

| I think the prices of a new good is always terribly high, because of the anticipation and many exciting new features on the PS3. I heard rumors of it being able to read only smaller discs, but I hope that that rumor is false, since I don't mind playing some PS2 games on it. Ahh!! Can't wait!!! XBox 360 can wait, lol. |

The PS3 is selling for even more ridiculous prices on ebay! I went on there earlier and there were some pre-sales of the PS3 for up to $2,600 USD.
This is insane. Was the PS2 this expensive when it first came out? I honestly don't remember. I wasn't too much into video games at the time of it's debut.
It's going to be years before I can manage to get my hands on this.  |

The last time I saw a PS3 being advertised in a shop window it was around $1,300 NZD ><
Wayy too expensive. When the PS2 was first released it retailed at $1000 NZD and is currently around the $200 NZD mark... New Zealand goes a little crazy with prices...(good thing I gave up on games  )

| If the PS3 is that high in prices, there won't be a lot of sales for them here in Michigan. Michigan's economy is bad right now, and there aren't a lot of jobs here, even tho our governor says that she made jobs. Those are all down south of the state tho. So ya. ^^; |
