I just had the idea that I should make a J-Pop site for english speakers (pretty much everyone here obviously ^^) that will have all kinds of lyrics and translations (similar to translation/lyric topics here but no content will be published without full permission from translator), extensive biographies of artists such as Ai, Ayu, Amuro, etc. (lots of A's xD), tutorials like how to get lyrics on your iPod (no, not using "Notes" feature Tongue), etc. And I want to have like an online mp3 player to play some sample songs (which will have to be opened by popup sadly Sad).

Basically I want to eventually create the J-Pop haven. But there are a few problems. For one thing, I'm still in school so I can't devote all of my time to this because I have lots of hw and a few after-school activities. And I'm not that good at Japanese...I'm still learning Shocked. But I am addicted to J-Pop...and that counts, right? Giggle.

Anyway, if I do it, the url would be at jpop.fuzillion.com (or j-pop.fuzillion.com). (fuzillion.com being my main domain..) It it becomes popular, I would buy a new domain for the service.

I'm thinking about doing it using Joomla, so it won't really be like a wiki. I have a lot of experience in managing Joomla Smile.

So I'm just wondering, would this be a worth investment of my time? Would it be useful? Are there already enough J-Pop lyric sites? Even though mine is going to cover every aspect of J-Pop for the english speaker?

Also...if I end up doing it...I will need a team of writers and translators *wink*wink* Smile.

Well... ... It's a nice idea but the contents that you're intending to include into your site can be found around the net (lyrics, bios etc.).

But one way which your site can stand out it maybe being user friendly. Confused

Yeah, that's what I'm going to be trying to do. I'm going to try to steer away from sites like http://www.seeklyrics.com/ where people just submit content and it's never really checked and put into the proper album...

It seems like a nice idea, but it also sounds extremely time-consuming, and for someone who doesn't have that amount of time needed, it can be stressful trying to update while handling your personal life at the same time. There are haven-esque & informative sites around for English speakers like J-Music Ignited and the wiki, among many others... I think if you really want to do it however, you should do it. It just might take a while finding a team.

You're now a student and your idea is highly time consuming, so unless you have a team of dedicated people to share the work load, you shouldn't venture into this as it might affect your studies.

And futher more, you've to put in lots of effort to compete with present sites that offer similar stuff.
