It's not everyday that some place in the world is unfortunate enough to experience some natural disaster but for me, I still find it hard to feel any empathy without actually hearing the stories of those involved. This was from a chain mail I recieved from a friend, and I thought it was worth sharing (not sure if any of you guys have seen something similar, if not the same).
The vast majority of us are lucky enough to live in conflict-free non-disaster-prone areas so I'm sure we all often take our lives for granted. Let's just take a moment to pause and think about those who lost almost everything they ever had.
I found this quite inspiring to make the most of what I have now. It really puts it into perspective of how small our problems are compared to such an enormous tragedy. |

I definitely agree. It's heartbreaking that so many people suffered and died, or perhaps lost their loved ones. But at the same time, it is so incredible that people have that much compassion and strength in their hearts to reach out to others in the best ways they can. The presentation had me in tears, in awe of the pain, the strength, and the kindness these people have. Thanks for sharing sljinu |
