Mmm this single isn't doing well on the Oricon charts.
If it's any solace the song Kurage, Nagareboshi has been in the top 5 on iTunes most downloaded chart the past week. Fans also reported they heard the song 3 times in the space of two hours while out and about in Japan in restaurants and stuff, and that there were lots of limited editions left in Tower Records.
edit
Oricon sales in!
Kurage, Nagareboshi got #4 weekly and sold 34,118 copies.
To compare, Rocket Sneaker sold 30k first week and Pocket sold 39k first week.

Just a quick notice, I've basically finished the Excite interview (I can't believe I did it in one day) and I just need to have a few small things checked so check around for updates on the blog over the upcoming few days (most likely will be posted on Friday).
Oh, and there was one other thing I wanted to point out. I was a bit disappointed at first that Ai didn't elaborate as to what she meant by the jellyfish, mainly because there was no actual reason for it to be included apart from its comet-like appearance. Hence, I think now that the whole jellyfish concept is actually nothing more than imagery and I'm wondering if I should just omit it from the lyrics translation altogether. What do you guys think? |

I went to the post office to get my copies today..
Surprsingly I find myself a bit disappointed with the packing of the singles...
To make things worse, the special little card which most people thought it would be at least actually be signed (if not actually written by ink) by ai-chin herself but NOOOO...so I don't feel as special..and I feel been fooled by the use of words by Avex...
But nontherless I love the tracks...the packing just ruined my mood though.. |

OMG and that goes for the last 3 comments
I can't believe Kurage, Nagareboshi only sold 34,118 copies. I really thought it was going to sell great in it's first week. I mean it can still go on to sell better but i'm still sad over this
And to find out the packaging isn't great just a regular cd. ?? It's her 5th Anniversary, 2 limited edition covers, a beautiful song and single too ( I like the other two songs on the single alot) why not have nice packaging. Yumekui had nice packaging and now the little card isn't signed by ai-chan then why make it first press ?? Avex could of just included it with all the editions of the single. It's only paper Avex!! just make more copies and include it with all copies since it's not signed by Ai.
Don't get me wrong. I will love my single when I get it. (Next week it' ships ) Just a bit disappointed and then to find out ai doesn't elaborate on the jelly-fish part in the song in the interview. Although many ppl here already had great ideas about the jellyfish part still Hard to say if it should be removed from the song. Lyric wise it's there but then without explanation it doesn't need to be there. It's like just throwing a word in there for the fun of it. Would of been nice to know what the intention was coming from Ai
Aside from that I'm still looking forward to the interview sljinu You always do such a great job |

@remblue: Haha thanks for being the only one kind enough to respond *glares at the other two* nah just kidding, just kidding.
Anyway, I really don't think Ai-chan would be able to sign a piece of paper for every limited edition copy out there. I mean, naturally we'd want that but I think that the vast majority of artists out there also do the same thing...and not just in Japan either. Besides, wouldn't she get so tired of signing??? Haha, maybe it could be argued that comes with the job of being a famous celebrity >_>
As for the interview...I'll probably get those final points clarified tomorrow afternoon/night haha. I actually have a few others lined up to translate afterwards so yeah, busy schedule >.< |

^ I appreciate all the time you put into translating I love reading the interviews. I like getting more insight into the songs from the single. I love knowing what Ai was thinking while writing these songs. I've made it a habit to read these interviews. So thank you
Yeah I know Ai can't sign all those cards I think I"m spoiled and just wanted an autograph |

@Remblue: I think you'll enjoy this upcoming interview a lot then! Ai reveals a few more facts about herself that I think most Otsuka Ai fans would be quite interested in...
@Negaiido: I have no idea as I haven't seen it
Edit: Interview is up! Enjoy guys! |

^ thanks for the translation!
On Avex Taiwan's official site , they said ai-chin titled it as shooting star and jellyfish because when she looked at her own drawing of shooting stars from the upside down view it looks like a jelly fish.... |
