Wow. If you look at it buy #1 of sales instead of release it's pretty weird. I'm sad that Kingyo Hanabi didn't do as well as her really popular ones. I'm not suprised that Happy Days did so well though, because as anyone can tell, Japan likes her upbeat stuff more. I love Happy Days, but I like Kingyo Hanabi a lot more. Look at the top three...><:

| yeah, I agree with you, BanFan... for my it's a bit strange that ranking. Well, not strange cause it's what I expected japanese people would like the best, but anyways... many of her best singles are not at the top :S |

Yeah, I guess people do seem to like upbeat songs more, though I like slow songs just as much. All of Ai's slow songs are really good though, in my opinion, none of them are boring, like some slow songs. I'm surprised Kuroge didn't do better than that, that's one of my favorite Ai Otsuka singles. Her singles really are quite up there in the charts. Looking at this, and looking at Morning Musume's sales, wow. Just, wow!!  |

Lainay, can you please post up a sales figure chart for Morning Musume? I have no idea how much they sell so I can't make a comparison here. I would also like to see how much BoA sells, because everyone seems to think she'll be the next J-Pop queen.  |

Wow, simply wow! That must be the peak period for Morning Musume! I assume the declining sales might due to the fact that most of their supporters have now turned teenagers and all of them get addicted to Ai lol.

Regarding the BoA's sales, indeed it goes really low at times but I think Ai did better than BoA overall, didn't she? I mean, in terms of singles, but BoA's album sell really well for some reason, like LISTEN TO MY HEART has a great sale for a debut, and BEST OF SOUL have good results too. I wonder if Ai's third album can break BEST OF SOUL's sales figure. |

Best of Soul was a best collection so it would surely get good sales since many people in Japan love collecting the best compilation. Ayumi's A Best got over 4 million. In fact in my opinion 1 million is a bit low for a best compilation.
Hmm.. well you can never say with BoA. Some album/single sales were pretty low while others were rather impressive.
Listen to my heart got high sales because it was already popular since she had released it before in Korean so people had already heard her music and got to love it. Hmm... well it's hard to compare them. But I think that BoA's popularity is not so steady.. Ai's popularity seems to be picking up, especially thanks to Avex making her release more frequently. |
