A few weeks ago, Oricon conducted a survey of a thousand people, asking them which female beauties they think of when they hear the word "summer." Given the natural tendency to think of swimsuits, it wasn't too surprising that model Yuri Ebihara topped the list. She was ranked highest by both men and women.
Ayumi Hamasaki was next in line, taking the #2 spot on both sexes' lists. Kumi Koda had to settle for 3rd, with Yu Yamada and beach volleyballer Miwa Asao right behind her.
The rest of the list consisted of mostly singers: Maki Ohguro, aiko, Misato Watanabe, and Ai Otsuka, followed by a three-way tie for #10 among Aya Ueto, Aya Matsuura, and Chinatsu Wakatsuki.

| In all honesty, the words "summer beauty" would imply either a bikini or skimpier outfits. I don't think that image fits Ai. She looks absolutely stunning in evening wear, and she looks really cute in your average day to day wear, but I really can't imagine Ai in a tank top and short shorts >.> |

uhhh...you're missing half the point here...
you're only thinking that summer is only short shorts and bikinis...but she CAN wear this in summer >.>

As my sister notes, looks more like a spring/fall dress =p
I suppose it's a regional thing, I live in NYC and all I see around the city are women in short shorts, tank tops, tube tops, miniskirts, etc |

| Oricon is hilarious. I love all their polls. But it's nice to see that Ai made 9th place. For an odd reason, I thought of Ai-chin in a light summer yukata (kimono? I can't remember which word to use). |
