^Utada is a really big outlier. She just sorta fluffs around but anything she churns out most likely will be popular, she is afterall one of the biggest j-pop artists of the past decade. But an indication of how much she cares about things is how she doesn't even celebrate her 10th anniversary like others.

If you notice Ai is from the same label as avex, which really try to throw their spotlight. All their powerhouses like Namie, Ayu, Koda and others all do tours each year. It's no surprise Ai doesn't follow suit.

Also if she doesn't tour each year, you guys are gonna complain about her not doing certain songs when she tours, because if she only tours once every two years, she can't cover all the album tracks and B-sides as extensively as she currently does.

Indeed some of her single 's are included in nearly every ai albums.. as a result it become a bit #$@$%$%...
Songs like Amaenbo, kuroge wagyuuu, sakuranbo, kingyo hanabi and happy days... No evertimes i play with my window media player, these songs felt like repeated too much (single and album and fans made album together in my play list) Blank stare ... even ai am ballad also include these songs
Hope Coming album "LOVE LETTER" can reshape this pattern....

Haha, that's not necessarily true. She may just not view something like a 10th anniversary as important, and is merely concerned with the music she makes and that's it. If that was how she saw it then I'd completely understand cos I'd be the same...I couldn't care less about my own birthday even. But the fact that she doesn't tour on the 10th anniversary does not necessarily mean she's not taking anything seriously. I think it's nice to see her go at her own pace and just enjoy her life and career the way she wants to Smile

I suppose you raise fair point there.

The only purpose for singles is to promote the album..the singles are needed to make the album popular enough so the album sells well.....
Why to release singles without having them in the album?
All artists release singles to puts them in their albums...almost all non-asian singles don't even have B-sides...They only release them to make the songs popular and then say: "Buy the new album that incluedes the latest hits of the artist"..
Also, there's some people who doesn't buy singles, and they need the single songs on the album.

But Ai doesn't make her Anniversary concerts to sell more, I'm sure she makes them because she loves music and her fans, and wants to give then an awesome concert to say thanks to her fans.
She gives US a present for HER birthday Laughing

lemme first give abit of intro of myself before i start posting ^.^

been very interested in the uplifting tunes of Ai's while working at Kinokuniya Bookshop. Planetarium's sound of fireworks piqued my interest, i thought it was bloody interesting, plus i grew really fond of the style of song. That was 4 months ago...her songs have now accompanied me through my days, and really appreciated to having her tunes for my latest exam period, to which i find very comforting and relaxing...

back to "topic"

to date, i've only bought her Ai am BEST, and LOVE PiECE. and as i know more and more of her songs, i kinda regret getting Ai am BEST. shouldv'e bought the albums instead. but if i bought the albums, there'll be plenty of singles that i really like (eg. Hanikami Jane) that i'll miss out. T.T

it kinda sucks at a certain perspective. that avex (and i'm sure other labels do this too) kinda "force" people to buy more than necessary. like adi says, it makes alot of repeating in a playlist =p

but then again, i think it's good that we have a choice. albums are good for starters, and if you're really into her songs, get her specific singles.

now, if only her singles don't cost almost as much as her albums over here in Singapore.........

^That looks nice...... but do you have a source?
Unless it was posted on LOVE9CUBE first since you are in Japan... the tour page on her website hasn't said anything yet.

If this is true, I hope we get both tours on DVDs.
