For those who don't know what HQCD means....it just means High Quality CD.
Well...here's what I mean...
Avex Trax is re-releasing 6 studio albums plus 1 best album of Do As Infinity. The HQCD....well...it's higher quality.........and each will cost about 2000 yen, including tax. They will also include special contents and went on sale the past Monday.

Now...will Otsuka Ai get a chance for the HQCD? Because she was Avex's first Blu-Ray and HDDVD artist....well...I think.... |

Haven't really heard of HQCD. Is the difference in quality significant?
Well, Ai Chan is kinda one of the highly regarded artists at Avex yea?
So I guess it should be quite soon that we will be seeing her albums being re-released on HQCD. |

from what i can find out about HQCD, silver alloy is used to coat the CDs instead of aluminum, so production costs are five times higher. thats about it. no improvement in sound quality. it will sound exactly the same as a conventional error-free CD.
so the only value to me is in any special content and packaging. |

I cant say she will surely included... but probability are high.
since D.A.I will release in HQCD, it would be better accompany by other famous artist such as otsuka and ayumi.. otherwise all highlight will only with D.A.I

Oh so high quality is referring to the aluminum coating. But wouldn't it make more sense if the sound quality is better? I mean, why call it High Quality CD?
Personally, I feel it's some kind of rip off. |

well...the article does state that
"The albums are being sold in HQCD format, a new type of disc that promises higher audio quality than typical CDs"
link: http://www.tokyograph.com/news/id-4038
and for my side of research for the HQCD...it was introduced early this year and released on September 2008. HQCD is manufactured by a Japanese firm called Memory-tech (manufactures 1/3 of Japan's CDs)........the article states:
"Apparently it allows audio to be stored far more accurately than conventional methods, offering far cleaner sound and another level of quality to help beat away the insurgence of digital media for a little while longer. "
so....that different layer makes it last longer........uhhhhhh yeah.......right.....how long? My dad's old cd's from the 80's are still playing perfectly fine.......>.> |

Knowing Avex they probably will. They love money. So I'm betting they will release Cd's of Ai's like that. Now I'm not sure when but I'm sure in the future they will.
Don't know if I would collect them It would depend on the circumstances. If they had different covers or photos. All depends how they present them. |

I think they would not. These re-releases are somewhat special, as Do As Infinity apparently just reformed on 29 september this year after having disbanded for almost 3 years, avex is probably doing such releases to push them back into the music scene. Thats what I feel.
Those blu-ray discs releases for ai-chin are probably something experimental, more of like testing the market for the sales of blu-ray discs.
And on this topic of HQCD, sony music also released something similar I think,(or is it the same? lol) They call it the Blu-spec CD, it uses the same blue laser diode technology that was optimized for the manufacturing of Blu-ray and implemented it on normal CDs. |

Why do I sense another format war...but in a more retarded way >.>
I feel kinda cheated now if they're starting to make these as standard...but oh well...at least it's fully compatible with regular cd players... |

I think she might, we all know avex just love love looves rolling in its giant solid gold pool of cash just jokes, just jokes!
They probably might, just to get more out of her sales. I can see it happening with a "6th Anniversary" re-issue of LOVE PUNCH with some extra stuff like re-done songs or something... that'd be pretty awesome! |

Of course she will be featured!!!!
That's just my optimism above but I reckon the probability will be high. She is one of Avex's top acts correct? |
