I think Im the only one around here that is still resisting the temptation to download and listen to the songs prior to release. But judging from all the reviews you guys gave, the album does indeed sounds promising. Will probably review after I got my copy. |

^ Good for you. It will be better for you since the temptations will continue and create much more excitement and you will be thrilled once you get to hear it on initial release! As for me, having downloaded it already, there is no anticipation, nothing more to look out for.
Anyways, this album is really good, I was taken by surprise actually. So far, LOVE LETTER = LOVE JAM (my fav. Ai album). As opposed to LOVE COOK (having killer a-sides, horrible album tracks), LOVE LETTER (has so-so a-sides with killer album tracks). LOVE LETTER is more original and to her style since the overall album sounds very Ai-like.
1. LOVE LETTER [5/5]
Very beautiful ballad. Thought i would be disappointed but it's a very nice ballad with just the piano but it's a solid track.
2. ロケットスニーカー [3.5/5]
So-So a-side track, nothing particularly special but it gets catchy at some moments. Fun beats and rock song.
3. バイバイ [4.5/5]
Cute song overall. The "la la laa" is super catchy and the "bye bye" portions of the song are adorable.
4. クラゲ、流れ星 [4.5/5]
Nice arrangement and something much MUCH better then the horrible "Pocket" ballad." Although, how the song is setup, it reminds me a little of "Renai Shashin" and actually (*switches to "Renai Shashin"* <3) Beautiful song overall tho.
5. 人形 [?/5]
6. 君フェチ [5/5]
This style seems to be more of her signature sounds now. We got a little snippet/preview of it in "LOVE COOK" with "Neko de fussen" and "Tokyo Midnight" and this "Kimi fetch" is like the upgraded sound. Love how Ai sings the song and the chorus is indeed catchy and memorable.
7. Creamy & Spicy [5/5]
The album continues with another fun heart-warming track. It doesn't go off into different directions like her previous 2 albums did (going from "Cherish" to "Ramen 3 Fun Cooking" ie: LOVE COOK) I actually prefer more fun happy songs like this as opposed to CHU-LIP which is just whack and overly happy. Songs like these sound more controlled.
8. ド☆ポジティヴ [3/5]
Hear we get Ai's very hi pitched cute voice. The vocals reprise her signature singing style such as songs like "Sakuranbo," "Happy Days," and "SMILY." However, the song isn't very memorable. It's a fun song and fans would probably enjoy it however for someone like me that has a very hard time liking the hyper happy fun songs, it's a so-so track.
9. 360゚ [5/5]
This song sounds very beautiful. The effects on her voice are very mystic and mysterious and it adds to the overall feel of this song. Although i'm wondering what does 360 mean? The song carries on very well and sounds like a good movie tie in song. The part where she kinda screams lightly, adds effect and impact to the listening experience, and it's just an amazing song (the best actually).
10. シャチハタ [2.5/5]
OK. This is where the album slightly curves downward. The music sounds nice and it gives you that swing big band feel and Ai starts it off with the "daba daba" chanting and that's all you get throughout the entire song. It's a waste of 4 minutes on a song with wasteless music. It would have been better to carry partial this song as instrumental which then leads to a more song-like track. I'm never going to tell myself "ok, i so want to listen to Ai's "シャチハタ"!!" since it's merely a song and tracks like these should be left off or secret tracks just like "Babashi" was since it throws the album off track.
11. One×Time [4/5]
This was the better a-side track for the "Rocket Sneakers" single. The music is nice and sincere to its tie and how it's arranged is nice. It's not perfect but it's good and refreshing to hear. (especially after "シャチハタ."
12. ポケット [0.5/5]
There is probably nothing to list as amazing about this song, especially since it copies "クムリウタ" from start to finish. (or it might be the other way since "Pocket" was made a year earlier) Regardless "クムリウタ" was the better version. Boring, uninspiring, rushed!
13. 愛
FINALLY! A song after Ai's name. First, being introduced to it this earlier this year, it sounded beautiful and I thought it would be an a capella song although now finally being released, it has a nice and memorable tune to it. Great ending track for the album since typically an ending song for an album leaves your final thoughts of an album!
OVERALL
Beautiful album and a step up. Ai's music is truly maturing and she is leaving her hyper happy songs behind and getting into other possible signature styles. The album overall is truly heart-warming and is nice for the winter holidays so it's worth every penny when it comes out. |

For me this is her very mature album i mmean her ballads are very nice and warm-harted...
At first i didn't like kimi Fetch and Do positive but now i like them.
I like Shachihata (Best and not wasting time) and 360 ° (Second best) ,Creamy & Spicy is crazy and happy song, and i dot know why people dont like love letter for me its very introvert song (i dont understand lyrics but i felt it that way) lots of emotions in one tiny space Smile
I love her more and more...Sorry for my bad English...
Can't wait for 17.12.2008 |

geh, ポケット 0.5/5!? クムリウタ is great too, but i think i like ポケット better. and the PV is so damn beautiful.
oh, and ポケット >>>>>>>>>>>>> LOVE LETTER, which a slight disappointment.
LOVE COOK having horrible album tracks?!?!!?!
so, uhm, you're saying that 5:09a.m., LOVE MUSiC, Hanaeri Tamago, Cherish and Tokyo Midnight are horrible? (the other ones i can understand, but not those...)
i guess we just don't agree. |

I think LOVE LETTER actually runs like a letter. it has a subject "LOVE LETTER" at the beginning where she's just coming out of that shell she has, very introverted. And then "Rocket Sneaker", where she has a burst of inspiration and starts writing like mad. She continues the happy mood in "Bye Bye" and then goes through a roller coaster of songs (though I honestly have no idea where "Shachihata" comes in. It's like she was staying up a while to write the letter and she didn't get much sleep).
Finally we end with "Ai", which is her first name. So it's like she's signing it; "yours truly, Ai"! That's what I see in it. Aw, Ai is just so cute and creative! |

5:09am is a really nice song however it's so short and it's more of an introduction. "Hanaeri tamago" thee arrangement is boring and went nowhere for me, I prefer the live version featured on "Renai Shashin" much better. "Cherish" is the best album track IMO and "Tokyo Midnight" is nice but it has no lasting appeal. "U-Boat" is addicting and fun but that is pretty much it. |

HAh?! why only 0.5
I think Pocket was a very nice song.. the meaning, melody and everything of it , watching all ai pocket performances always bring some emotional response from me.
(Especially the part, "Itsumo sobari iru kara" )
Next... what I think bout LOVE LETTER...
We must listen the whole album start from track No.1 to end in order to get the feeling.. Don't just skip here skip there and choose only the new songs to listen... pocket and rocket sneacker server very well too. |

LOVE LETTER (the song) is also an Introuduction...
I agree that LOVE LETTER is like LOVE JAM(It's my favorite album too..), but I don't think LOVE COOK has terrible album tracks xD |

Initially, I highly disliked Ai's new album but after a few listens to most of the songs, I realized the reason I disliked this album was because her style changed. I began to appreciate her new style. It's great I just love 'Love Letter, Ai, Shachihata, all the singles, and 360°' The other songs are still growing on me but I'm sure I'll love them equally soon.
Now I just want to hear Ningyou! |

Being the addicted Ai fan I am, I would definitely get this album. I'm most looking forward to the album tracks because I haven't heard them yet of course. Hearing that it's a winter-themed album, even if it's the wrong time of the season for me, what the heck, doesn't matter.
@Rokit: This album releases mid-December right? How come you've already listened to the album? I'm confused. |

^ Perhaps this can clear up your confusion
Yeah I know...an album leak an entire month before it's release date is just a disaster for poor Ai-chan...I wonder which traitor at her studio leaked it out |
