For those of you that aren't familiar with this, Kouhaku Uta Gassen is an annual big time live show on NHK. Since 1951 it's been held on December 31of every year, and artists that are invited on the show are divided into 2 groups: red group (female artists) and white group (male artists). Throughout the show the 2 group sent representatives and take turn performing on stage. At end of the night, Japan decides which group perform better. It is consider a big deal to get an invitation to the show as it reflects an artist's success and popularity for the past year. You can read more about the show here
Ai has appear on the show since 2004, and this year marks her 5th appearance on the show! There are no word as to what song Ai will be performing yet. But just for the heck of it, here are the songs she performed in the past:
2004 - Sakuranbo
2005 - Planetarium
2006 - Renai Shashin
2007 - CHU-LIP
You can view the entire artist list for this year's show here. |

Yayyyyy!
I'd love to hear Kurage Nagareboshi, it's my favourite from her newer songs
And I see a few of my favourites in the list of attending artists too |

ohh! yay, thats great news to hear that ai is appearing on Kouhaku Uta Gassen again..
i can't wait to see her! for me, it doesn't really matter what song she performs, cause i like all of them! but i wouldn't mind hearing, Kumuruita, or Kurage Nagareboshi, or even love letter <-- not likely.. but who knows~

Hoho, This expected from the first
The show will be boring without ai-chan~
Hope that she perform songs that fun and cute like Creamy & Spicy or even Shachihata
But look at her recent style in LOVE LETTER where she has become more mature, I think she will perform slow ballad songs to meet that image
Is there anyway I can download and watch the whole show?
(I want the whole show not just ai-chan part) |

^ You'll have to wait until New Year's Eve for the whole show to appear at some place like Jpopsuki. Or maybe even try Youtube and other video sites. Those usually work. |

....sigh. YUI's taking a break, so no YUI. and Morning Musume is pushed out by SPEED or something. guess they might only have been on the show last year because it was their 10th anniversary... which makes me sad.
on the other hand, there's of course still Ai-chin. and ayaka. and two new additions to make up for the YUI/MM loss, Ikimono gakari and Perfume!
funny that Ikimono gakari is in the red theme, seeing as they're one girl and two boys, haha.
but at the same time there's Pabo (Satoda Mai and two other girls) as backup for Shuuchushin on the white team, haha. they're the only representants H!P got in kouhaku this year. and i don't even know what the other two girls look like... |

I'm thrilled to know that she will appear again.
Renai Shashin was her best performance to me.
I'd like to hear Kurage, Nagareboshi or Ai.
Her song choices never fail to disappoint me. |
