This will be a new thread where I will randomly pick a artist or a band and you will have to test their ability live. You can rate him/her/them out of ten, give a short review, anything. Shall we get started??

I cannot provide live videos for every artist or band so I may need some support. Kindly pleased if help comes by the way. Nod The artists you can choose can be worldwide. I suggest you choose artists that are fairly well known. But expect anyone to be the artist to review.

The artist to review is: Fall Out Boy!

haha wonderful idea, carlito! I love reviews.

I might sound biased, but that's alright Love . Ai's performance live is varied. What she can do in the studio and live are different, but that's to be expected. Let's for example, take her JAMPUNCH concert.
Ai really knows how to open a concert with her quirky mannerisms and ideas, for example with Mousou Chop. She also is a crowd pleaser--when she took off her costume and the fans saw her for the first time, they went ballistic!
She can also set a mood from thumping loud to solemn, for example, Ponpon and Haneari Tamago on LOVE COOK 99 TOUR. Conversely, she can keep the energy going without stopping once, for example, The last part of JAMPUNCH. I call that the 'Infinite Energy playlist' where the energy literally just does not stop.
She also always has the crowd begging for more. Again, on JAMPUNCH, she tagged on maybe 5 extra songs, 2 being encores, to the playlist when it was supposed to end on the first Sakuranbo.

Now for the negatives. Sometimes, she overdoes a song. Like, in my personal opinion, Kurage, Nagareboshi. It was a beautiful and breathtaking song, but in between its release and LOVE LETTER, she did it often live. After a while it becomes lackluster and uninspired.
Sometimes she screams words into the microphone that she doesn't need to. For example on Friends, she goes "SayoNARATTE!! ietara kitto. Motto KANTAN NI!! Waratte no kana." and on Daisuki da yo. sometimes she goes "Zutto zutto, DAISUKI DA YOOOOOOOO!!!!". I haven't seen her live lately, so this could just be one of those 'growing pains'.

For Ai Otsuka I give her a 7/10 for her originality and her awesomeness overall. -3 for her overperformance of some songs, but then again she doesn't have a discography 60 miles long, so it's understandable. Smile

I will review myself! Smile Although I can admit I'm not very good at reviewing.

Ai-chan has been my fav artist since 2005-06 and it's definitely not because she is my top artist in Last.fm but just how amazing of a singer she is.

She has improved a lot from her earlier days trying her best to keep the squeakys out of her voice and everything and can also sing and play piano at the same time which is something not everyone can do. I definitely love the energy and enthusiasm she puts in her performance which makes them enjoyable for the people watching. Most of her live performances are on par with her studio work but there are just some times where she overdoes it. However, it's not so problematic. On a positive note, she's really improved her voice each year or so and she still has the reign of my favourite artist, maybe forever?? Tongue

Very good luck and best wishes to Ai-chan! Boogie

@Koda
I feel that when she 'screams' into the mic, its because of the high notes and she had to sing out loud? I don't know, but definitely, i feel goosebumps whenever she sings with emotions.

I love her live performances, especially her concerts. Her performances on TV doesnt reflect her true ability IMO, she seems exceptionally nervous compared to her concerts.

Lately, i just feel that her stamina seems to drop after watching her 4th ann. and LOVE PiECE tour- or was she running and jumpng around too much? i also think her concerts are getting more and more lively with more emphasis on her appearance (Well, im comparing her LOVE COOK tour to her LOVE PiECE tour). I absolutely love the changes and the improvements made to the staging, the effects and her appearance. (Like in LOVE PiECE, the lighted light bulbs were lowered, then the light was diminished, during Kimi ni Kaeru) I also love how she interacts with the crowd and she definitely has increased the interaction during LOVE PiECE tour.

One thing i don't like about her live is that sometimes she run too much, and cannot focus on her singing. And that she love to scream into the mic (not the singing part, but really scream before she jumps and end a song). But its a good thing as well because she can make the crowd high. So its up to individuals to see this point, for me i don't really like it.

Not sure if this is also counted as a review of Ai, but i love her band members, esp Akinori and Charlie! Cheerful and enthusiastic band members are necessary for her concerts, because together with Ai, they really brighten up the whole stage! *but i don't like it when the CHU-LIP dancers come out too often, like in LOVE PiECE, 2 of them came out during LiFE-LOVE CiRCLE which i think it is disturbing. =X

So on a whole i'll give her a rating of 8/10 for her concert live, not taking into account her TV performances. =]

Oh, by the way, the artists I will choose will not be by my diverse interest it will be chosen randomly. I don't have a wide library of artists so it would be friendly to please throw some suggestions on who to review. Smile
