There was a little topic discussed in Mumble concerning about the status where we get assembled one of Ai's song titles depending on our post count. I suggested if it would be possible to make custom status.
It's kind of debatable so this wouldn't get a 100% thumbs up or down so I just thought I should get suggestions here.
One of the upsides of this is that members have the freedom to put whatever they want in their status. With the exception of eyn the admin, Lainay the HyperGirl and the other moderators, why not have our own selection of songs??
One of the negatives I pointed out is that there could be a chance of a member posting explicit text in their custom status (which may be unlikely to be happen but still a concern). And some people prefer to stick with the flow of Ai's song titles because this is Channel-Ai right?
Or maybe that you have to reach a certain milestone in order to give yourself custom status? Say 1000 posts and you have the ability.

| i think about the explicit text, we can solve it by only offering a list of ai songs to choose from, so members can only choose their status from the list, and not by typing in a textbox or something!=) |

| ^ That would be a little boring though. Like, some people would like it for a while but eventually they'd wanna put something of their own. Maybe you could have a filter that recognizes words like 'f-k' and such and will not allow the user to post it. |

| hmm i think that since its an Ai forum, we should make it as "Ai" as possible, so using Ai's song would be easier!? also, people could put suggestive words which may not be vulgar... this could be hard to filter out too=( |

Sorry to disappoint but it is techinically difficult to allow user to customize their rank status. Also, I see little benefits in going through the trouble just to implement such a feature as rank status is merely an indicator of post count, and in some sense, seniority in the forum.
Even moderators don't get to choose their rank title, so yeah, we'll have to stick with the current system, which is more organized, useful and easier to implement.  |

ahh okay i see where you're coming from, eyn!=) i guess we can consider it an achievement everytime our status changes huh! alright thanks for answering our question eyn!!  |

| @eyn: I definitely agree with the way the status is implemented now. It's very simple and it's fun to achieve posting ranks and stuff. The custom status has too much negatives to be thought about in my opinion now that I think about it. |
