I was bored and thought of bringing up this thread...
Firstly, nami tamaki was my first JPOP idol next is ai-chan...
Her music career began when selected at Sony Music Audition 2003 singing and dancing to "Survivor" by Destiny's Child. She is said to have been picked as the only winner from over 5000 contestants. Since then she has become known as the "Princess Of J-Pop". She has had 3 number 1 albums in Japan. Her highest charting single is currently "Reason" which reached number 2 in 2005. She was 15 when she released her first single "Believe".

Nami tamaki's Biography...
Nami Tamaki was born on June 1, 1988 and raised in Wakayama-ken, Japan. Nami Tamaki at young age wanted to become a singer. At 9th grade, she moved to Tokyo to start a new life. She went to dance schools and went to many auditions. In Sony Music Audition, she performed Destiny Child's "Survivor" and was picked.
In 2002, a new anime show "Gundam Seed" had started. As for the 3rd opening theme of the anime, Nami Tamaki first single "Believe" was chosen. It instantly became a big hit and gained lots of attention. Nami Tamaki debuted on April of 2003 with the single 'Believe'. On the 18th Annual Japan Gold Disc Award's, Nami Tamaki won the New Artist of the Year award.
In 2004, Nami Tamaki released her 1st album, 'Greeting' and was No.5 at the Oricon Charts. Her first album was also released in America by TofuRecords. TofuRecord is known to promote Japanese music in America and releases Japanese cds in America. In the same year of her American release, Nami also performed in America for the first time.
Early May of 2005, Nami Tamaki released her 2nd album, 'Make Progress' and reached No.1 on the Oricon Charts. It was Nami Tamaki's first cd that reached No.1 and was a huge success. Her 3rd album 'Speciality' was released on July 12th 2006, following her previous album, this album was also ranked No.1 on the Oricon Charts. A few months later, Nami played one of the supporting role in the movie, "Lovely Complex".
In late 2006, Nami released her first best album, containing her first 13 singles. In 2007, Nami starred in the Japanese version of "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" with Koyama Keiichiro (NEWS). After about a year and half since her last album release, Nami had finally released her fourth album, Don't Stay. On May 11th and May 17th 2008, Nami had her fifth anniversary concert.
Nami Tamaki who is an artist under Sony, who use to be a young JPop princess singer, is now also an adult, an actress, and model. |

She was dropped?
I could've sworn that she MOVED to Universal J, not dropped.
But her upcoming single is gonna suck >.>, totally not the Nami I know... |

i'm not sure, i just read it somewhere on internet :-?, but it may be true bacause of lastest album Don't Stay, not Peak in top 10 and the number of sold out discs is not very high |
