Okay,so I really didn't know where to post this so I posted it here.

Yesterday I've received 3 Ai singles that I bought from ebay and everything seems to be fine with them but I noticed something.

On all 3 CDs (SMILY/Biidama,Amaenbo,Daisuki da yo.) there are writings in kanji & katakana and I could read only the katakana ones that say "promotion" and got a bit worried after I saw that here in gallery there are no such writings on those CDs...so I was wondering what do they mean? What are my copies of these singles in fact. I took a pic of them (click to enlarge them).

Look at that orange/black text,they all have it. Is this normal and what does it mean?

Thank you for all your help.

Descriptions around the central hole are,
プロモーション用見本品 = a promotional sample
要返却 = return is necessary
貸与品 = a load sample
I think these 3 discs have not been released publicly but distributed only to radios or music companies e.g. HMV for trial play.
Rare and lucky.

So,that's not a bad thing?

But it counts as a regular single and quality is the same?

(These are my first singles so I have no idea how the original ones look like at all)

Well it depends on whether you mind or not that they are promotional samples.
Some people don't care, because the audio is exactly the same as the commercial release.
Some people don't like it because they somehow feel promo copies are inferior, and then you have people like azurejan who think they are rare and lucky.
I'm pretty sure that there is no difference between the commerical and copies with those singles.

I think these are probably more precious than having a complete collection of all 19 singles.
If I were you I will keep them like jewelry.
I don't have her early singles, I think other members may help. Yesterday I tried to search on internet, rarely people open the box and took pics. How about the box cover? Could you share with us?
Anyway, you are the lucky one. I guess these kinds of (pre-release) versions are just a few hundreds in the world.

The CD prints from our forum gallery,

Amaebo

Daisuki da yo.

No SMILY / Biidama in our gallery.
It seemed no major difference from yours, except for the additional words around the holes.

Oh,wow...I never knew that they were so rare....

But they look exactly as the normal singles though...I think.
I'm going to post some pics but I was just taking photos of them yesterday and I wasn't paying attention to what I was actually looking at when taking pics because it was when I noticed that they had that writing around the hole.

They also have some weird blue sticker sticked where the barcode used to be and all I could read again was "promotion" xD.I'm gonna take the pic of it later since I can't do it now.
(And also,the front box cover is just as the regular one,I haven't noticed anything different...)

(Ignore Hamasaki's GUILTY,lol)

(And I've also got these...)

I'm going to take better pics (like the back of the singles,and the blue sticker) later.

Oh,and btw. Does anyone know how can I check the quality of the songs on them?
I played the the amaenbo cd in my laptop and it opened with a weird player that I don't even know where did I get it from and the player said that it's playing at 128 kbps....now is that just the player or....Oh,man,I am so disappointed I got these!I want real retail versions!This really sucks....Sad
