WOW! $30 and that's before shipping. Maybe we should make our own, I made a hitomi one for this year, very amuteurish, but much cheaper! |

all the pages of the calendar have been posted at the loveaiotsuka forum. they are only digital camera snaps, but more than enough to see the detail. now in the Gallery. go check them out!
"Miss July"
EDIT: similar, but not identical pictures for Jan-Feb and May-Jun are available separately as posters (and in colour).

Whoa, July!!!
I can't believe the calendar is so short though! Guess I was expecting pictures for every month. Thanks for uploading the photos to the gallery, pon pon. |

The July - August page...
Don't say that she start becoming Gravure Idol!
I think the picture of Sep - Oct page (the page of her birthday) should be change with the picture of Jan - Feb page one, since it was the best pic over the others (in my opinion).
Or for us men, maybe Sep - Oct page should have the Jul - Aug pic? It was a great pic, too. |

Thanks for those, pon pon!
Beautiful shots. Mature, artful work befitting a maturing woman like Ai.
I'll probably end up framing one or two of these (perhaps I should order two calendars...? hmm.).
I think my favorites are Mar/Apr and Nov/Dec:
In Mar/Apr, it looks like she's wearing a mascot costume for Osaka's Hanshin Tigers and holding a string of fish. Judging by the buildings and particularly the sign at the left for monja, I believe she is sitting on the crosswalk in the middle of Tokyo. I think this is a nice statement about Ai herself as an Osaka/Kansai native, transplanted into and surrounded by the rushing Tokyo/Kanto public. She's discussed in the past about how hard it was for her to move to Tokyo for her career.
Nov/Dec makes me think of the Renai Shashin PV and era. It has a lovely, if sorrowful nostalgic feel to it for me. Like she, very much a woman now, longs for the carefree childhood of her past. Exhausted by adult troubles, she visits the playground and lays on the slide to remember and reminisce. |

^ your thoughtful comments have made me feel slightly awkward about my irreverent interpretations of these pictures.
one thing about the Sep-Oct picture - i cannot recall ever seeing a photo of her with her hair drawn back tightly over her scalp with no fringe. can anyone else? |

^ really? She's done the exact hairstyle so much in the past. Just off the top of my mind, there was the Ontama show that aired in December of 2005 (but I'm not sure if this one counts, as her bangs were quite long then ), the beginning of the LOVE COOK pamphlet DVD, her Pocket performances, and...
I think that's about it! It's a nice change from the usual hair-dos we see Ai go through. I wish she'd do that particular one more often. |
