I discovereHere's my top 10 !

1) X JAPAN
First Japanese band I really listened to. Because of them I discoverd lots of great japanese and asian music. X JAPAN is my favorite band with Guns N' Roses (but GNR aren't asian XD).

2) HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
I wouldn't have put them at the 2nd place before there "new" album Swamp Man (released last September). The new singer is amazing and this album is one of my favorite all time.

3) Ai Otsuka
First song I listened to her was Ponpon. Crazy song o_O I didn't take it seriously at all. Then I listened to the Love Is Born 2007 and I really liked it. At first I had some problem with her voice, but now I got used to it and I even find it really great. It's just very different than european or american voices.

4) Aya Kamiki
I listened to her album Secret Code and I immediatly liked it. I think she's really great. I'd like to see her sings something with Ai once.

5) Versailles
The guitars ! Hizaki and Teru are just amazing. I don't like Kamijo's voice much, but I got used to it. This band is really great.

6) MUCC
MUCC is the only japanese band I listened to before I really got into J-Rock and J-Pop. I had only heard their song Ame No Orchestra which I think was pretty good, but that's it. Then I listened to their other songs and I really like it. I like their very powerful sounds. Got to see them live in October, they are really good, there was a great atmosphere.

7) Taia
Taia is more metal than rock. I really like their song Gray Ocean. Listened to it once if you have the occasion.

8) Luna Sea
I guess everybody knows Luna Sea, at least only the name. With Sugizo on guitar, who's now an official member of X JAPAN.

9) ZAMZA
I discovered Zamza at a concert of Ra:IN (Ra:IN is the band of PATA from X JAPAN). I didn't know Zamza at all, but I really liked their show. The band is formed with 2 ex-members of JUDY AND MARY (Banshee on bass and Kohta on drums, Kohta played live with Ai Otsuka during her tour in 2006 I think btw) and 2 ex-members of ECHOES (Hiroki on guitar and Zinc on vocals). Zinc is famous in japan because he's a well known writer there. He writes under the name of Tsuji Hitonari. I got to see ZAMZA live in Japan last summer, my first concert in Japan ever ! It was amazing ! Check out their music here : http://www.myspace.com/zamzaus .

10) hide
hide, ex-guitarist of X JAPAN (died in 1998) was amazing. His solo career is really great. I got some of his concerts in DVD and it was totally crazy.

THought I would rearrange my Top Ten

1. Ayumi Hamasaki
Always and forever my idol. Haters to the left, por favor Tongue

2. Ai Otsuka
The so-called 'indie princess' of avex, she's always going ot have a special place in my heart for her beautiful ballads and super pop.

3. Epik High
Yes to Korean hip-hop. This was my gateway drug of sorts, to get into hip-hop and rap that speaks about struggle, love, and hope.

4. Death Cab for Cutie
The first Western artist on the list! They're like the perfect amount of sweet and clever, and Ben Gibbard's voice is to die for, it's so dreamy.

5. Utada Hikaru
One of the first J-Pop artists I got into, ULTRA BLUE and HEART STATION are two of the greatest albums ever. Seriously.

6. K'naan
He's more than just a rapper. He's more than just a poet. He's a survivor and a storyteller. And his stories of Somalia tear at you.

7. Dong Bang Shin Ki
Pretty much the one boyband I will stand by and love, no matter what happens to them. Their music isn't the most glorious, but somehow the way they sing ballads kills me.

8. Yellowcard
They're the typical alternative-punk band with a splash of violin. They aren't a band anymore, but I don't know. I've got some sentiment hanging on these guys.

9. P.O.S
I only got into him recently, but he reflects a side of punk-rap I think is totally sincere in its anger and witticism.

10. KOKIA
This woman is just too amazing, and a good way to round off a top ten.

1. Hello Project - Yes I'm an H!P fan and my top 10 honesty consists of the groups in HP.
2. Otsuka Ai - My favorite soloist! I love her songs most especially her ballads
3. SNSD - They're the best Giggle
4. Utada Hikaru - I have her album. My mom bought it for me then I didn't really know who she was then I listened to her songs and got hooked. I especially love Flavor of Life!
5. CNBLUE - They have really good songs! Plus cute members. I don't mind them not knowing how to dance cool.
6. Tegomassu - I love this duo! NEWS sort of broke apart this year. Yamapi & Ryo gone! No
7. Arashi - I love this group because they have wonderful members (Matsu Jun~)
8. AKB - yeah I like them too but I only pay attention to Mayuyu, Acchan, Yuko, Yukkirin <3
