Same theory as the "What Song Are You Listening to Right Now", just a drama version. I watch a lot of different dramas, so let me know if you find anything good
I'll start, currently watching Kimi wa Petto, about halfway through. It's very strange, and quite humourous. While I wouldn't rate it as a must-see Drama, it is still quite enjoyable and if you want to watch something different, give it a try.
The other drama I'm watching ( I did mention I watch a lot of different dramas ) is Love Letter, a long series (60 eps) about a girl who is deaf (and mute), and basically deals with her life from when she is a child to when she becomes a young adult. This is my 'Learn Japanese' drama so I watch without subtitles and try to understand as best as I can. If you're a learner as well, it is quite a good drama to learn from, as most of the time they talk slow and in sign language, making it easy to follow. I also quite like the opening theme to this 'Oto no nai Sekai' by My Little Lover. ' |

^ hmm.... can't seem to find any info about it. i only find the wiki for the korean drama on d-addicts, though i can see the torrents (which all need seeds...). anyway, mentioning that drama reminded me of Orange Days which is about a violinist going deaf, and quite frankly one of the very best dramas i've watched. i finished it in one day.
right now i'm not actively watching any dramas, though i have Shiroi Haru on hold (waiting for more eps before i watch the rest). |

| If your interested in it mangomalte, I can reseed on d-addicts. Yep, I don't think there is hardly any info on the series anywhere, though you can find some MVs for it on youtube. |

I think Orange Days may have been good...have the DVD box, 3 DVDs, #1 and 3 are region 1, DVD #2 is region 3! Watched the first DVD, no sense in watching the 3rd one then, sigh.
You think that's bad, try being stuck inside a bottle of Perfume! (okay)

I'm seeding Love Letter on d-addicts now, there were a few stuck on about 80%, and I know how much I hate that |

Good suggestion, sometimes I can watch a different region DVD and sometimes I can't, who knows why. Noriko Sakai is also in 2 good horror movies, Ju-On 2 and a really good under rated film, Premonition, that one is really good. |

Try installing DVD43, that usually gets around region protection (and various other issues) |

I ended up doing 2 things. Thanks though for all your suggestions, tried these before I logged on here.
1) I can also play a region 2 disc with the VLC program, had a DVD for Shibuya 15's first 2 episodes on region 2(also have it in region1), it played it.
2) DVD Decrypter allows me to copy any region coded DVD onto my computer and it makes it a region free file, I can now copy and upload anything for anyome. Put Orange Days on my computer, no disc said it was the wrong region code!? The box set is actually 4 discs, disc 4 is all special features. Have been watching this in between posting tonight.

I'm currently watching three doramas that are actually being broadcast this season: Buzzer Beat (great for summer - mostly light-hearted and sweet...and awesome for Yamapi-fans ), Orthros no Inu (Ryo! *_* and it actually gets better and more intriguing with every episode! ) and Teioh (it's not that good but the episodes are only 25 min. long so I'm watching it when I don't have much time XD)
apart from these three, I re-watched Hana Yori Dango (I + II) together with a friend...we finished today but since she wants me to show her more Japanese doramas, I'll probably start another series with her next week (one that I already know, though XD) |

Buzzer beat and Orthros no inu - I've added them to my list, thanks Yamapi's actually in some of my favourite dramas (Nobuta, Proposal Daisakusen and Lunch Queen as well) so I always look forward to dramas he's in.
Yeah, Hana Yori Dango is a great drama to show first up, I've shown it to a few of my friends and they'be become hooked after that. Another great one to show to your friends is Nodame Cantible |

^^ You're right about Nodame, what a great series! My favorite Yamapi role was Kurosagi, that is really worth seeing. The best drama he was in, though Hiroshi Abe is the star, is Dragon Zakura, it's really hard to get much better than this drama, has quite a few other famaliar faces such as Yui Aragaki in it, run, don't walk to your store to get it! |

Actually seen both Dragon Zakura and Kurosagi, Dragon Zakura was really addictive, once I started watching it I couldn't stop. Though it made my head hurt at times Sakuragi-sensei's view of the world is so depressing, and I was so angry with him in the last episode Kurosagi was also quite enjoyable, and had Maki-chan in it, though I found the storylines were a bit, umm, naive and predictable at times. That's probably why I rate Nobuta, Proposal Daisakusen and Lunch Queen better than those two (though he was only a minor role in lunch queen). |

hmm... favourite Yamapi char? i'm not a too big fan of his, but i've seen most of his latest dramas (Code Blue, Proposal Daisakusen, Kurosagi, Nobuta wo Produce and Dragonzakura) due to other people being in them. i'd have to go with either his role in CB, he's got an interesting mindset in that one, or NwP, because he's crazy there, lol. i actually pretty much hated his role in PD and Kurosagi was kinda meh, such a strange char, but he was pretty good in Dragonzakura.
right now i'm 8 eps into Love Letter and waiting for more eps to finish downloading. just wanna say thanks for the recommendation, flintandtas, it feels great to be able to follow the story without subs and without looking up too many words. at first 60 eps felt like a daunting task, but i haven't had any problems so far. |
