Yesterday, my copies of LOVE PUNCH, LOVE JAM, and LOVE COOK finally arrived. I was waiting for over a month for this day. Now, I feel like I've given something back to Ai-Chan for everything she's given me, and that's really what this topic is meant to be about.
There are lots of artists out there, and many have very good songs that I like a lot. But I really don't always feel like I want to do something to help their career. With Ai's music, it's different. It's really hard to listen to songs like Daisuki Dayo, Ai, Kataomoi Dial, Pocket, or Yumekui without this feeling of wanting to do something nice for Ai. Maybe it's just how I picture her, working hard to write songs that make people truly happy... I don't know. I always get the feeling that Ai-Chan works as hard to reach out to her fans, as the fans work to reach out to her. They're happy, beautiful songs, and maybe I feel it's important to keep that kind of spirit alive.
Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm the only person who's ever bought an Ai Otsuka CD. I know I'm not. Mostly, I just wanna say that her songs have a greater impact on me than a lot of the stuff I hear, and I'm really, really glad to be another one of her fans. |

| I can vicariously imagine the smile on your face when you get the albums. two years ago, I fell in love with Ai chin and i bought all her albums and singles on the shelf. that`s very crazy of me to do that because I hadn`t bought any album for years,it was Ai chin that made me want to do some feedback to artist by purchasing their products. Ai chin also changed me a lot |

I think many of us have similar feelings towards Ai-chan. I live in Seattle (duh) where it is easy for me to get her CDs and DVDs via Kinokuniya bookstore, I just found her about 2.5 years ago and have since gotten all available CDs and DVDs, Since her DVDs are region 2, I can only play them on my Laptop and Computers since I have them set to region 2.
I think one reason Ai-chan makes me happy, is that she seems genuninely happy to produce and perform her art. Watching her off-shot movies attahced to her DVDs make her even more endearing. As she often says..."atarimai mitai kedo... zenzen atarimai jya nai..sukogoku lucky" This kind of outlook is so rare artists. |
