Say anything you want regarding sports ... who you support, the joys of winning and the pain of losing. And if you play or have played any sports let us know too. Boogie Boogie

For me, as everyone likely knows by now I am a massive bombers supporter, I always watch them when they play and usually go to the matches when they play in Sydney, and sometimes go down to Melbourne to see them play there Giggle Giggle

I also love table tennis .... only started playing a couple of years ago but now play it all the time at work .... the guys I play against are both really good players, but I'm slowly catching up Laughing Laughing (Actually when I first started playing I used to really struggle to hit their serves back ... they put so much spin on the ball it just flies off at right angles when it hits the racquet Laughing Laughing )

Anyway I'll list some more that I do later Tongue Tongue

Love sports!!

Usually every day depending on the weather I go to the backyard to kick my football around. I need to go to a wider space sometime. My kicking needs improvement.

I occasionally play basketball. I play soccer with my school friends every lunchtime. I watch the Australian Football League. I go for the Essendon Football Club. My favourite player would have to be Jobe Watson. Smile I'm proud to go for a great club.

For other sports, I go for the Lakers in the NBA, Federer and Nadal in tennis and more to come.

If I can't play any sport due to weather, I count on Wii Sports. Laughing I also play Wii Sports because I don't have a tennis racquet. Giggle

Is self-defence included?
I have black belt in Karate. Smile
I'm in Kyokushinkai Karate and I'm a coach there. It's a full-contact Karate system.
But recently I'm not very active there. Confused

And I like to watch football (soccer), especially J. League and Samurai Blue. Smile

^ Oh wow, black belt in karate Meow Meow Meow Meow well done choko Smile Smile

Anyway, yep I used to play basketball a lot when I was in primary school, was quite good at it .... but height, or rather my lack of it became a real problem as I went through high school Sad Sad Funny enough I hate watching basketball matches though .... they are just so predictable Tongue Tongue

I also played a lot of hockey in school ( though I wasn't that great at it I used to always make the team somehow ) Our team however was actually pretty good .... got all the way to the quarter finals in the state and we ended playing at the Olympic stadium which was quite exciting Giggle Smile

I began wrestling at the ripe age of 5 years old and continued through 12th grade. My older and younger brothers also wrestled and they were both more naturally talented at it than I.
In 8th grade, I placed 3rd in the state wrestling championships of Pennsylvania. I lost to the Champ in the semis. I went on to the National Regionals (from Virginia to Ohio and all the northeastern states through Maine). There I placed second, defeating the Pennsylvania 2nd place person. My state took 1-2-3 in the tourney with the 2 and 3 reversed from the state tourney the previous week. Boogie

I am a die hard passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL and I love watching Federer and Nadal play tennis (especially when they are playing each other).

I also played football (American style) and what you call football (we call soccer), In Highschool, it was just wrestling and soccer. I still suffer from the injuries I sustained in these sports while in Highschool. Sad I'll post about those at another time.

Now, I really only play tennis and table tennis. I couldn't even serve well in tennis until I got my should repaired. I am much better at table tennis, but I enjoy playing tennis more when I can.

I'll save the table tennis for another post since that is my passion these days. Smile

Smily in Seattle played the Wii sports challenge with Aya Boogie

She beat me 4-3 in baseball (she was up 4-0 in the bottom of the last inning and Smily got the tying runner to second, but to no avail) Mad and then she crushed me in bowling (203 to 170) I am down 0-2. I evened the score in Tennis and golf. Finally, it is Wii sports boxing.

Round one, Smily knocks Aya down 2 times, then thinking he has it wrapped up, just dances around throwing a punch here and there.. Suddenly, I raging fury from Aya put Smily down. Smily is not worried and stays on the defensive... Aya is now mad and unleashes her inner beast!

Get up Smily! Get up Smily! Get up... 8..9...OH NO!!!! Smily loses to Aya Sad Surprised Sad Surprised

She still said the word.. "Sh*t" before starting. She is now showering so that she can watch Green Day perform in the Grammy's.. Where did Smily go wrong??? Sad Confused Laughing Laughing Laughing

^ Laughing Laughing Laughing hey SMILY, have you tried the table tennis game that comes with Wii Sports Plus .... It's actually a lot of fun Boogie Boogie

Well my table tennis game today was an epic match .... lost the first two sets closely, won the third in a close one too and in the fourth was up 20 - 6 and (foolishly) went for the extravagant shots to finish the set Laughing Laughing anyway won the set 21-14, but my opponent got a bit of a sniff after that and raced away to 19-9 lead .... managed to pull it back to 20-16, but couldn't get it any closer and lost Sad Sad Sad

But it was a good match ... plenty of edge hits, close misses, return smashes and shots that clipped the net Giggle Giggle Giggle

I would have liked to watch that.

When you are up 20-6, it is not foolish to try for the spectacular shot(s) to finish... Nod I'd do the same. But then again, you are right... you don't want to let them breathe going into the final set...

A 7-1 run is not too shabby!

Today, I debut my new racket. It is a Tibhar IV-L Balsa blade w/Tibhar Rapid soft rubber (black) on one side and Super Defense 40 (red) on the other. It is an exact replica of what I have been using for the past two years but had become a bit worn. The thing came to $122.85 US.

Flint, the Super Defense 40 is an very good counter balance to spin. I like having the two contrasting sides as a big part of my game is changing speed and placement of the ball. My favorite shot is getting them to back up from the table and dropping it short so that it bounces twice before they can hit it or, if they do catch it, they hit it long. Boogie Laughing
