I mean, usually avex will say, "Hey, Otsuka-san, we have chosen you to create songs for the Olympics". And then she came up with something. It is FujiTV who proposed to Aichin to make a song for a theme song of the 2010 Winter Olympics news on FujiTV.

Lyrics like "Marrying you from the bottom of my heart, my HAPPY LIFE♥" from Zokkondition doesn't really suit it at all, although I think LUCKY STAR is more suitable: "The chance to grab the star in my dreams!" Perhaps she just chose them based on mood haha. 「ゾッ婚ディション」 (Zokkondishon) is not a song for the Olympics, but for the Asahi Slat CM. It is only 「LUCKY☆STAR」 which is a song for the Olympics. |

Hmm...a lot of review seem to either prefer one or the other I liked both songs I didn't LOVE both of them, but they both had their moments. But if I had to choose which one was weaker, it'd probably be "Zoccondition", because of how the song is arranged...not much flow in between the beginning and end sections of the song. I loved the parts that had that roaring guitar though, that part was fantastic. As for its PV, well it was alright. It was such a vibrant, bubbly song, but the set of it was so gloomy and foreboding. It seemed like it should've played out like a sitcom, especially with how the title came in.
"LUCKY STAR" was stronger as a whole because it made sense, it was catchy, and it was cute That song was hook after hook to me, and I thought its PV was fantastic. It didn't make much sense, that's for sure, but it was so much fun to watch
But I agree with HDF in the way that they both seemed like album tracks. If they were stronger-sounding songs, they'd have made a much better single. |
