I'm playing LOVE COOK right at this moment. It's such a great album. It has to be my favorite Ai-Chan release, after LOVE PiECE and LOVE PUNCH.
LOVE LETTER has great songs on it, but they don't flow on the album too well. It seems like Ai was going through a lot of different moods when she wrote those songs, and so it's a little jarring playing one after the other, although I think many of the songs on that album are Ai's best yet.
I love playing LUCKY STAR. It's hard for me to watch the PV for that song, though. I love the PV for Zokkondition, but it's hard for me to listen to the song.
I was looking through Ai's discography, and I think that she has released over 30 PV's since she began her career. That's so impressive, especially because so many of them are really creative and fun to watch.
I guess I'd like to say that I'm so happy that Ai is with us. Her songs can be played many, many times without getting tired of them, and there are enough of them where, when I'm tired of one album, I can go on to another, and it sounds fresh all over again.
Whenever I talk about J-Pop with people I know here in the US, Ai's name almost always comes up. She has credibility in her songwriting, arrangements, and performance skills. She is one heck of an artist, and I guess I'm kind of proud that I like her.
These are just a few thoughts I had, in no particular order. I don't know if there's supposed to be a point here. Mostly, I thought it would make Ai-Chan happy to know how highly this fan thinks of her. Maybe someday she will.
Finally, I think she has created an impressive enough body of work, to have made a great name for herself in pop music. Even if she never releases another song. Ai has arrived. (^_^) |
