It's been such a LONG time since my last post here on Channel-Ai^^... been busy with life and other stuff...
I just wonder... there are many fansub groups out there but why not Channel-Ai Fansubs? We have members who know japanese, right? Is there anyone who interested in subbing ai-chin's pv, talk show and stuff??
I don't know japanese and my english is bad... but I can do other things like timing, typesetting and kfx... |

Welcome back to Ch-Ai
I've done some fansubbing before, but that was a complete fiasco
The hardest thing is translating all the spoken Japanese into good English, and most of us here can barely understand written Japanese |

- Lack of translators
- Probably won't last long...
which goes under:
- we need to find people who can translate, time, encode, q/c and all that other stuff that relates to subbing
- What videos? Ai-chan doesn't churn out enough music videos to keep us alive IMO
by the time we finish looking for all the people, some people will be busy, which then leads to separation...and at the end, we got nothing done. This has happened with Nigihana as I was supposed to be the proofreader...but nothing came out because we certainly took our fine time to look for people (about 3-4 months) LOL
Whoever wants to join the "subbing team", list your role and say "Ai"!!!!!! Oh, and please, don't just choose proofreader or q/c as a part of contribution, because that tends to happen alot when there's 1 translator with 15 proofreaders signing up LOL |

Looking for translator(s) seeem to be the biggest problemm other things we can work it out...
Not a lot of PV/talkshow? then we won't need to put too much of our free time into subbing... 3hours/week when there a single/album come out, we can recruit new staff when someone resign/busy, and put the team on hiatus if everyone's busy...
btw, I can also do encoding... |

i have a few years of experience in subbing, though i haven't actually taken any japanese courses. i can translate (if it's not too hard), time, typeset and i know some encoding, i've even learned some karaoke typesetting last month, but it's wracking my brain.
i'm doing some stuff by myself, but i often end up half finished (have some friends that usually help me), and i haven't done much in quite a while. too busy with real life. and although i enjoy subbing, especially since it's a fun way to increase your skills in japanese, quite often it feels a bit frustrating that it's going slow and you can grow tired of it.
i'm also the kind of guy that wants everything to be perfect before i release something. just a few hours ago i watched some of the movie Fure Fure Girl with Aragaki Yui (until my battery died on the train) and the subs there were good for the most part, but sometimes the translations were really off, like they translated all the words somewhat correctly but used them way wrong in the sentence. i know i don't understand everything correctly, and i don't wanna be that guy doing it wrong. that's how i am. |

If nobody else volunteers, I can do these:
Translation checking, editing, encoding, timing and subs
Pretty much same as mango about translation, except my strength is encoding
I hate aegisub but I know how to work with it |

You can't help it?? Doing sub should be something you interested, otherwise I think it'd be bored and tired...
Still, we need a translator ne? |

Hi, this is my first post, but... I was wondering if I could be a translator.
・I'm a Japanese, so I could speak, read, and write Japanese without problem
・I used to live in the U.S. so I understand English, too (I hope).
I've never tried subbing, so I have no knowledge about it but I thought maybe I could help.
Plus, I love ai-chin!! I'd be glad to get involved in something related to her ! |

I can contact eyn by sending him a text message (which I'll do later...since it's 4am right now)...since he doesn't seem to be online nor responding to e-mails I'm assuming....
The only issue is probably any legality issues that will occur...because these subbed videos WILL have this site's name and it WILL be published to the public whether you like it or not...because some idiot WILL NOT listen. Once avex finds out (well..to be honest, I'm sure they know about this site anyways...if they don't, then consider ourselves lucky I guess...), eyn will be the one to blame as well as the person who is responsible for distributing the file.
As for mod approval...I approve...as for the others, I'm not sure. Just be prepared for it. I doubt we're gonna face any legality issues because we've already uploaded and distributed a ton of files over the past 4-5 years anyways............but I'm just saying that it's something that we should be careful of. |
