After a ton of teasing, Mr. Taxi debuted on Japanese radio today and the radio edit has been posted to YouTube.

The audio quality isn't so great, but at least we can hear it.

Thanks for sharing! The quality is not clear enough to judge the song.

I really like Run Devil Run, it's a catchy song. The PV is a bit boring, but I can't help but watch it again and again.

I was hoping they would do a new PV theme for Run Devil Run. If you hunt around you can find clearer versions of Mr. Taxi. That was just one of the very first I found. It's definitely catchy but sounds like it was recorded off a 40 year old transistor radio.

I consider it yet another teaser.

Hmm let's change to title of this thread, since we've went from talking about Mr. Taxi to SNSD in general.

SNSD has signed with Universal's Interscope Records. This puts them on the same international label as Lady Gaga and Eminem. Hopefully this means more aggressive international marketing and better album availability in the US.

The new SNSD album "The Boys", comes out Oct 19th so hopefully this means it will be available in the U.S. iTunes store (since it will be released on iTunes internationally and physically in Korea on the 19th) on release day. That would be great.

And they'll be performing on Music Bank on the 21st so hopefully we can see it in the US on KBS America

SM Puts up PVs for The Boys (English Version)

Korean Ver

Very short English Interview/Promotion

Single is available in the US iTunes store but not the entire import album (yet anyway as SM does sell SNSD imports in the US iTunes store). The Import is already sold out on Amazon but at twenty bucks is a good buy. It is also eligible for Prime which means they are keeping local stock regularly (just sold out now).

I really liked the PV but the lyrics are blah, similar theme to Bang! from After School and it goes over worse in English. But if SM+SNSD hires US pop lyric writers for the English lyrics (to punch up translations) I think they could make big inroads like Utada did. The choreography and harmonies were great, they just need better lyrics.

I would add that the Korean version of Mr. Taxi is great! (in my opinion being super biased)

US Release 18 October
Korea Release 19 October

Tracklist
1. The Boys
2. Telepathy
3. Say Yes

Great performances on Music Bank.

Mr. Taxi (Kor.) AND The Boys.

Busy weekend for SNSD who is now performing in New York for the SM Town Concert I wish I was there. It started about 5 hours ago so it is certainly over by now. I wonder how it was. Awesome I'm sure. I saw the SM Town concert in L.A. in 3D on the Samsung Demo Blu-Ray they play in stores and it looked way cool.

New US digital EP available from Amazon or iTunes, featuring remixes of The Boys

Unfortunately it is still plagued with the horrible English lyrics and for mixes they are very short (3-4 minutes) but it is welcome to see SNSD make inroads in the US and collaborate with artists like Snoop. They just need a better lyricist to massage the translations.

Tracklist

1. The Boys
2. The Boys (feat. Snoop Dogg) [Clinton Sparks & Disco Fries Remix]
3. The Boys (feat. Lil Playy) [Clinton Sparks & Disco Fries Remix]
4. The Boys *Bring Dem Boys* (feat. Suzi)
5. The Boys *Bring the Boys Out* (David Anthony Remix)
6. The Boys *Bring the Boys* (Teddy Riley Remix)
7. The Boys (Instrumental)
8. The Boys (A Cappella)

EDIT - after listing through the album a few times on my larger system which thumps quite a bit I'm starting to like it. I've come to the conclusion that you have to see albums like this as the musical equivalent of a Michael Bay film, e.g. Transformers. If you can manage turning off your brain it brings a bit mindless summer popcorn movie style fun along with an inevitable image of a clubbing Tiffany Love
