Geez, there are a lot of good ones but my all-time favourites would have to be:
[1] FLCL (Fooli Cooli)

So close but not quite. Runner ups include:
[2] Cowboy Bebop
[3] Samurai Champloo
[4] Full Metal Alchemist
[5] Last Exile

It was a tough choice between Cowboy Bebop and FLCL because "The Seatbelts" and "the pillows" are both awesome, but I like the wide array of drawing styles and the randomness in FLCL.

Favorite: Rurouni Kenshin OVA (aka Samurai X, the first one about his past) I didn't watch the second one, but I'm in love with the first one for art, animation, soundtrack, and story.
Last Exile, Samurai Champloo were among my favorites. FMA was just a roller coster of emotions for me, but I still loved it.
And Kino's Journey, just because I feel so placid after watching it every time.

ETA: And One Piece because Luffy is so awesome XD

I don't know.. I don't like anime much..
And iv'e started to give up on my all time favorite- INUYASHA.
It's becoming too popular. Nearly everyone in the US likes it; ANd it's not a US show...
Odd how Americans grasp on to shows not of their native country...>.>
Naruto was good too... until they screwed up up eternally with their horrible dubbing.. o_o;
So probably like this nowadays:
R.O.D -Jap & English-
Inuyasha -Usually only Japanese, unless it comes on my TV and there's nothing else to watch-
Trigun -Jap & English-
Naruto -Only Japanese-
Abenobashi -Jap & English-
FuriKuri -Jap & English-
Samurai Champloo -Jap & English-

And whatever else I can't remember currently.

After finishing the Samurai Champloo series it easily became my favourite anime but right now I'm watching Eureka Seven and Gun X Sword. Currently, Eureka Seven seems to be more interesting then Gun X Sword but that's probably due to the fact that I'm much farther in Eureka Seven; episode 14 as opposed to episode 3.

Find out more about Eureka Seven from Wikipedia

Wow, this thread has being going on for ages now. My sister just bought the FMP DVDs, and I have to say, I have loved all of the series since they first aired in Japan. Elfen Lied and Air also bear watching, although Air has a rather vague and wistful storyline (which isn't to say that it doesn't grip the watcher, just that it isn't action-packed).

The only TV series I watch is Detective Conan (Case Closed in America) and sometimes Yugioh. Well I enjoy the original comic books of both series much better than the shows because...
1. I've read the Conan books and they are much more suspenseful because they don't show the killer/criminal/whoever in the beginning while the show usually does.
2. I also started out reading Yugioh first and liked the dark game aspect with the whole "BASTU GAME" thing (heh heh Evil ) but the newer Duel Monsters version of the show only focuses on the card game which is ridiculous after a while. The Shadow Games version of the show that was only released in Japan was good though Smile !

I don't know if this counts but I also like anything by Miyazaki Hayao.
