I used to really love these RPG games but as soon as PS2 was released I lose track of all of them! Yeah, I didn't have a PS2 so I can't really play any of those latest RPG series like FFX etc. Sad.
Regarding Xenogears, I remember playing it last time, but was unable to finish it... I think my memory card got corrupted half-way through the game or something, then I never played again. I know that there's a lot of secret, for example there's this RPS (rock-scissor-paper) secret item which you can win after winning the mini game for many times? Not sure though lol. One thing I really like about the game is the crazy storyline (hi-tech) and the battle system. I hope they can make a sequel in the future.
Regarding Final Fantasy, I've played it since Final Fantasy 2, the main character is Cecil, and I think they do release a remake of the game on PS too. You guys should try out those 2D RPG if possible, like FF2, FF5, FF6 etc. those have great story line and you'll have tons of fun, if you don't mind the "not-so-colourful" screen compare to nowadays graphics. |

If it's not an RPG, I don't take much interest. RPGs are the only REAL games worth buying and spending time, as you get to shape the outcome, progress, get stronger, etc. Just like an alternate life for yourself. Reason why they take so much time. |
