That's a very cool site. I just have to say mae_blvd, the lyrics posted here should be your own work, especially the translation section. That's the whole purpose of this section, or I could have simply link to a site that has all the lyrics in Ai's Chatroom. Thanks. |

i decided to try and translate this..
---
everyday, with you – pon!
everyday, as a couple – pon!
aa ~ (the sun) it’s going down, just look at the evening sun upside down in order not to set
everyday, (by) one way or another – pon!
everyday, by a motorcycle – pon!
aa ~ the premonition of the scent of the rain, get the bloody (heh) umbrella! – pon!
open the beer cans – pon!
one by one, empty the janpingu’s (a treat) – pon!
(she murmurs/hums something here)
“ru – ji – ka – wo – me – yu – i – ma – a”
~aaaaaaaaa! pon!!
aa ~ do [not] dislike friends and handshakes
aa ~ do your best today
pon!
----
in parenthesis are comments
also that not between [] is because im not sure weather it exists or not at the japanese lyrics, but fits with the rest nicely..i assume that that na な after the kurai 嫌い negates the action ~_~..can some clarify this to me?
theres an error at the romaji
あぁ 雨の匂いの予感 穴だらけの傘を持つ ポン!!
Aa ame no nioi no yokan anadarake no kasa wo motsu
also anadarakenisuru means the "ef" word, i assume ai in a more slangish way she cut the verb and produced a noun/adjective thus i translated is as "bloody" (politely lol)
nevertheless this was my first try translating and i feel nice ^_^ |

I believe this acts in the same way as a verb. For instance, a positive command is:
食べなさい[tabenasai]-Eat!, whereas the negative is 食べるな[taberuna]-Don't eat! I think that it would work the same with the adjectives, in that plain-form + na is negative command. Hope that this helps.
EDIT:

I didn't know that. "Go be in a hole" (or something along those lines) |

Hi there, just found this thread while I was searching for others who have done an english translation of PON PON's lyrics. I did a translation for someone on another site recently, and I thought I'd shared my translation, if any are still interested, as I found it's a little different (namely, I didn't notice any swearing or anything in the song ^^)
PON PON
------------
Every day, with you – POP!~
Every day, as a couple – POP!~
Aa! The evening sun won’t seem like it’s setting if it’s looked at upside-down - POP!~
Every day, for some reason or another – POP!~
Every day, with a motorcyle – POP!~
Aa! The foreboding smell of rain!
I have an umbrella that’s full of holes! POP!~
POP! POP! POP!~
If I open the bottles of beer – POP!~
From here it’s jumping – POP!~
[Indistinguishable drunken(?) noises] POP! POP! POP!~
RU – JI – KA – WO – KA – YU – RI - NA
[not sure of meaning, or even sounds themselves]
Aaaa! POP! POP! POP!~
Aa! I shake hands with the guy I hate
Aa! Today also I’m doing my best!
POP! POP! POP!~ |

"Kirai" ("hate/hated") is a na-adjective in Japanese, meaning that like "suki" ("like/liked") you must use the particle "na" in between it and the noun it is describing.

There is in fact an error in the romaji, but it is correct in the Japanese version there. "Ana" means hole, "darake" means to be full of something, and "kasa" is umbrella (as you already know).
Excellent translation for a first attempt! |
