Very informative and well fomatted topic you have started here, broken::dreams, thanks for your effort, it makes this forum looks pretty with quality posting. Nod

Regarding Mika, I'm not a big fan of hers but I really like her Sakurairo Maukoro, it's such a beautiful song. I have both of her album, LOVE and MUSIC on my computer, but I didn't listen to them all that often. I think I should expand my J-Pop knowledge a little bit more by exploring more good artist like Mika Nakashima. Wink

I don't really like her Venus in the Dark, actually I kinda hated that song, and since it's the opening song for her LOVE album, I've been reluctant to listen to the full album. I hope she have more songs like Sakurairo Maukoro or GLAMOUROUS SKY. Those are quality stuff! Love

spirus said he likes 朧月夜~祈り, I listened to it and found that it gives me the "Gunslinger Girls" feeling, especially the violin part. Tongue It's a nice song indeed, very oriental. Boogie

^ Thank you very much eyn, I appreciate it. Smile

Regarding "oborozukiyo~inori", the song "oborozukiyo" is a traditional Japanese folk song that she covered for a commercial. However, she recorded it for her album due to popular demand. "inori" is not part of the original song, it's the part that starts "kiite, kiite" and Mika wrote the lyrics for that part herself. I thought it was a great single (SONY calls it a "mini album"...I'm not buying into that).Tongue

That's not good, abandoning an album because of one song! Surprised There are great songs like "yuki no hana", "FIND THE WAY", "RESISTANCE", and "marionette" on that album. "MUSIC" was good, but I don't like the song order of that album at all. No For me, shuffle is the best way to go for that album. Laughing

If you liked "GLAMOROUS SKY" you should check out "ISOLATION" which is also under the "NANA starring MIKA NAKASHIMA" pseudonym, and perhaps "Fed up" from her "MUSIC" album.

Thanks for your recommendation, broken::dreams. I listening to "Fed up" right now and it sounds pretty good, I like how it start with soothing piano then later change into the rock part.

I would try to find her GLAMOROUS SKY single later and see if ISOLATION is as cool. Wink I think I prefer her ballads more though, as almost all of them has great melody, and her stuff like Venus in the Dark or SEVEN really scares me away. Tongue

I forget to mention earlier that I don't really appreciate her "emotionless" face. (like you said in your first post) It's really kinda bad, as you will probably find her less approachable and hard to know what her real person is like. I think it makes it harder to establish friendly relationship with her fans. No

I just started listening to her NANA single because I saw her perform with HYDE on Music Station. I actually didn't know who she was even though I've seen her in the NANA movie commercials. I really like Glamorous Sky and My Medicine.

^Miyazaki Aoi plays Hachi.

I saw the live with HYDE's band and the talk. I just think it's funny that they dyed their hairs the same color. They must've become close, seeing as they had made a date to dye their hair with the same box. Imagine...lol. I just thought it was interesting.

Hmmm...I like ISOLATION better than GLAMOROUS SKY, but that's just my opinion

I like Mika's voice it's so soft and clear. And I like her jazzy type songs and classical. I Loved "Sakura iro mau koro"single, that song made me cry when I listened to it. Such a beautiful song. I believe that PV won an award on the VMAJ's... Confused
