May i ask a question of you ?
why do you choose Taiwan official site to translate rather than Japan official site ?
Japan official site seems to have more news and information. |

This thread has been dead for quite a while, I feel ashamed to have this as sticky so I translated her latest news on the Taiwanese official site. If you can read Chinese and wanted to contribute, please translate those older news that I haven't translated yet. Thanks!
*mumble* It takes a lot of effort to translate something, mine is considered nothing already compared to Celsius005's awesome translation of Ai-chin's latest interview, so do not take things for granted when you see someone translated an article of Ai-chin and give the translator feedback about their hardwork, always! *end of mumble* (btw, I'm not speaking this for myself but rather the hardwork of other translators, they don't get enough recognition yet!)

Animation used in Otsuka Ai's new single "Yumekui" PV
Kawaii song princess Otsuka Ai is too busy to shoot the music video of "Yumekui" and end up using animated character as her replacement? After starring in DVD dorama "Tokyo Friends", this year Otsuka Ai took one step further by taking part in the shooting of "Tokyo Friends The Movie". Being a dorama fan herself, she still can't help but expressed "Is that really me?" when watching her own dorama. Beside acting, singing is still the main career of Otsuka Ai, and the PV of "Yumekui" was made into animation, which is the first time she appeared as an animated character since her debut. This has stirred up a lot of discussion among the fans. (this is so true!)
The idea of "Yumekui" PV hatched when taking the train, first time using animation in music video
In her 12th single "Yumekui", Otsuka Ai sings about dreams and hope. Due to a line of lyrics that reads 'You are always there in the dream I sketched out', she believed this song is very suitable to be used as a proposal song. Regarding her first time appearing as an animated character, and the idea of using animation to tell the story in the PV, Otsuka Ai revealed she got this idea while she's taking the train. In order to put this fictional creature "baku" into the PV (which flies around and survives by eating people's dream), Otsuka Ai joked that if this was to be shoot in "live action", Hollywood is the only place to get this done, thus she decided animation will fit her vision the best.
It's almost 3 years since her debut, Otsuka Ai's popularity is still rising rapidly. In the various survey produced by ORICON STYLE so far, Otsuka Ai has always been in the top positions, especially in the "The artist you most wanted to spend Tanabata with" survey which she won the top spot. It is not hard to tell Otsuka Ai is recognized as a talented singer that is well loved by her audiences.
"Tokyo Friends" made Otsuka Ai an actress, hard to believe she's actually acting
Otsuka Ai first gotten into acting last year by taking part in the shooting of DVD dorama "Tokyo Friends", this year she took it one step further by starring in "Tokyo Friends The Movie". Being a big fan of dorama herself, Otsuka Ai often says "Is that really me?" everytime she watch her own acting on the screen. However, we have all witnessed how talented she is when it comes to acting, in fact many Taiwanese fans are eagerly looking forward to watch the love scene between Otsuka Ai and Eita. (ahem, these must be the female fans)
"Yumkeui" hits ORICON single Top 10 on its debut day, concert DVD (Taiwanese ver.) to be released on 9th
"Yumekui" was released yesterday (August 2nd) and it successfully got into the ORICON single Top 10 ranking, which makes this her 11th single that hits top 10 ranking. "Yumekui" comes in CD+DVD and CD two different version, the DVD includes the full "Yumekui" PV. avex Taiwan has decided to release the single together with the concert tour DVD on 9th August 2006. Fans who enjoy Otsuka Ai's music, please don't miss this chance to grab her latest releases! |

It's not you kazfz, I see the Frienger layout too. I guess they havn't had the time to encode the Yumekui layout into Chinese.
Thanks for the translation eyn! I know Chinese, I'll try and help with the old news articles. |

Thank you very much for the translation, eyn!
So she got top spot on that Oricon poll, eh? Let's see...
Ai being the #1 most wanted girlfriend = #1 person to spend Tanabata with + Hoshikuzu = Instant victory.
What will they come up with next?
It's great to have news from a variety of sources, often times being in different languages. With plenty of translating we can get all kinds of information. Whether it's making Ai's words known to everyone, or sharing other countries' reactions and thoughts... There's so much to be learned in the world, and a lot of it can be found here at Channel-Ai!
When you think about it that way... |

It's really surprising to see how many people know Chinese here. I know Chinese too. But translating is just too hard for me. |
