Objectives:
- To spread the love of Japanese music, such as J-Pop, J-Rock etc.
- Expose members of this forum to a wider range of Japanese music
- Make good use of the blog that has already been set up (kinda lame)
Okay, I admit I'm not good at writing objectives, but anyway, you get the idea. I want to make good use of the blog I've set up sometime ago and I would like members here to get to know different artists and music style out there in Japan.
Take a look at this thread Jason started earlier. The purpose of the new blog is very similar to that, but in more details and in more variety. Of course, a single person wouldn't be able to cover that many aspect of Japanese music, so we need your help to make it possible.
Jason and I have been working on details how can the blog used for introducing Japanese music, and now Jason has written a sample entry which should show you what can be expected from such a blog. Interested to write similar articles about the music you enjoyed? Sure, send us your application, here.
I know this is a bad time to start a project like this as school's starting soon and a lot of you will be busy with school works etc, but hey it's the same for me, and I'm in university which should be worse when it comes to workload and difficulty of courses. However, I can't just put off this project forever.
The authors of the blog will be selective, mainly based on your enthusiasm and knowledge about the things you're going to write about. I know a lot of you guys here have the talent to carry this out, so I'm not worried.
More details can be found on this blog entry. Take note that phpBB and WordPress is not integrated with each other, so you need to register a new account for the blog, and I recommend you to use the same username as your forum name.

All right, eyn, I'll help you, but only because you begged me! (Kidding about that one.) I think I'll have a sample or something done either tomorrow or Sunday because I have a few things to do today and tomorrow. Plus, I'd like to focus my thoughts and decide who I want to write about! (ZONE, maybe?) |

Come on, people, we need to keep this thing going, how come so little people replied so far! It's fun writing stuff about your favourtie artist isn't it, and many fans here will enjoy reading them if you are willing to contribute.
I will soon hold a briefing for this blog thingy for those people who are interested to be part of the blog team. Add me to your MSN messenger if you're interested, since there's no chat room feature in the Google Talk yet. The briefing chat room will probably take place on Monday, or just any day, depending on who will be attending and how can the time match with each members timetable. The main thing I'll talk about is probably how the blog system works, how to post and edit entry, how to upload singles to Channel-Ai FTP, how the "delicious" section on the blog works etc. Believe me or not, you'll learn a lot of things you otherwise won't.
It isn't a very hard job to write an article, here's a few personal benefit for being part of the blog team:
- you improve your ability to express yourself
- you improve your knowledge in related area before you can complete your article
- you help others to learn something they otherwise won't
- you improve your English writing skill
- you learn about how teamwork works (remember it's a community blog)
- show your works in your resume if you feel like it (write channel-ai blog team in your resume proudly)
Jason has written 2 articles so far, you can take a look here. I also added the blog link next to the gallery link below the forum banner.
P.S. I know there's a lot of ayu fans around (the ayu thread is just one of the hotest topic in asian music), so why don't you volunteer to write something about her? I know HEAVEN is coming out soon, so is the arena tour DVD, those are the materials you can work on, even her previous singles like "fairyland c/w alterna" is acceptable. |

Oh, cool, I didn't see this.
I'll help. Can I have L'Arc~en~Ciel? and the member's solo projects. I'm fans of all of them (HYDE, S.O.A.P, TETSU69, acid android). If it's only like the popular stuff, then Laruku, HYDE, TETSU69 should do it. |

I can help too! Can I write something about Ayumi Hamasaki and Hitomi Shimatani? I could even try BoA. I've written some reviews on Yesasia and my own forum and I think this idea would be quite fun indeed |

Glad to see there are some members will like to join the community blog. For those who don't like to be the author of our blog, you can post your precious comment if you downloaded those singles that we introduce. I really like to share all those songs which i think is nice, but what i want is the feedback from all of you or else i feel like doin this for nobody. If that so, what's the point for us to do this community blog? |

Channel-Ai Community Blog was mentioned by Ray in his Sunday Blog Roundup, here's a link to his entry. fyi, he's also the webmaster of an awesome J-Pop blog feed site called Feed of Pop. (if you use RSS this site is very useful)
I'm proud to say that the community blog is very successful so far and I have a great time working with all the members of the blog team: Lainay, Rinoa, spellcheck, spirus, broken::dreams, and finally, Jason. I hope you guys can at least give them some support by giving feedbacks on the blog, remember to use the same username as the one you have here in Channel-Ai forum, and try to make insightful comments because lame comments such as "Good article, you rock!" will not pass the moderation. Yes, I moderate every single comment on the blog.
If you are interested in writing (although I'll be thinking you join now only because you've seen cool stuff happening on the blog ), gimme a PM about who and what type of music you would like to write about. Here's a summary of what each members right now specialize in:
eyn - Ai Otsuka (review coming soon)
Lainay - Hello! Project
Rinoa - Hitomi Shimatani + Ayumi Hamasaki + ...
spellcheck - ZONE + Orange Range + YUI + ...
spirus - Namie Amuro + ....
broken::dreams - Laruku + Mika Nakashima + ...
Jason - Utada Hikaru + Rie fu + unknown artists + ...
Of course, you can still write about those artist that I have mentioned above, just try to coordinate with other blog team members before starting your own article to prevent crashing of entry. You can have a look at those articles that has already posted in the blog to see what type of articles we are talking here. You can also have an idea what standard of writing is expected. (I received notice from Kaoru and Akamori that they are interested in writing about Dir en grey and Orange Range's musiQ)
I have to say thank you to all the blog team members because they are the coolest people I've ever met. |
