I went to see this movie when it came out in theaters. Goblet of Fire is my favorite book, aside from the latest one. I was so excited! I couldn't wait to see it come to screen! Unfortunately it wasn't as great as it could have been. I know they had a lot of restraints to work around, but it could have been better. It just didn't live up to my expectations. There were SO MANY things that they left out that I felt were extremely important to understand future movies. (I felt this way about Prisoner of Azkaban and their cutting out most of the Marauders history.) Of course, they obviously couldn't add every little detail in, but there were a few trivial things that bothered me, or I just simply wanted to see!

* The money Harry won from the Tournament and how he gave it to the Weasley Twins.

* The emotional breakdown Harry had after the tournament, and his first real taste of motherly love with Mrs. Weasley.

* Since when are the Patil twins in the same house? Grr . . .

* Dobby! Hello! I loved that part in the book. Dobby coming to tell a distraught Harry that they had "His Wheezy" and giving him the Gillyweed. How could they cut that?!

* Harry & Ron didn't get to sneak out of the Yule Ball. I loved that part of the book.

* Hello? Sirius Black? Yeah. You only get to appear via fire. Sorry about that. No

* The entire scene with Voldemort. Harry and Cedric didn't get time to EXPLORE in the book. Lord people!

* The Imperious Curse was not explained enough in detail, nor Harry's ability to fight it off. (Or the fact that Krum was under it at the last task!)

* Ron using a telephone to call Harry at the Dursleys. This was also another favorite part of the book. Especially when they came to get him via floo and freaked everyone out.

* Harry's visions and his scar were explored, but not enough.

* Why did they even bother bringing in Rita Skeeter, if they weren't going to utilize her and allow Hermoine to catch her in her Animagus form and kidnap her?

* Um . . . how's Ron going to get Pig now?

Eek. I rambled a bit. That's all for now. There were SO many more things that bugged me, but I fear this post would get way too long if I went into any more detail. It was still a great movie! I just found it more of a companion to the books and not a good stand-alone movie like the first two. Honestly, I've been let down ever since the third movie.

Obviously, I'm bit of a fanatic. I am not ashamed of this. NOPE! NOPE! Shifty
