haha, that reminds me of my name. my full name is Bror Aron Gabriel, and Bror means "brother", so when i say that to people they kinda start making jokes about me being a monk or something.  my normally used name is Aron, not Bror.
my brother had some problem when he studied abroad in Illinois, because he has (as i) his normally used name as his second, but apparently that's not possible in the US (or?). so everytime they were reading names in classes or such they were calling him Carl. and he was like "for the 15th time, my name is Emil!". all his mail was addressed to Carl, and his ID and papers for the university said Carl too.  i find it kinda funny. |

Yeah, in the US, you're pretty much stuck with your first name. Like, when they're reading off names in class, whenever we have a substitute teacher, the kids who go by something other than their first name have to tell the sub and stuff. I just go by my first name, but for htose who don't, it seems like it would get annoying.

My pet name is Cin and everyone calls me like that, as my real name is very long (like many Thai names - -"). The funniest thing is that one of my teacher in the U always called me with my pet name and didn't know my real (long) name until the exam day....
My alias is mafee, a name of my cat.
I'm interested where you guys get your alias. (Maybe I should start a new topic??) |

Haha, that reminds me of old times.
I remember when I was 4 and my parents had terrible handwriting. This caused my name to be mistakened on the mail postbox area. Everytime I read the mail these days, my name is "Verome Magat" not "Jerome Magat". It's a bug that has been happening ever since I was born.
But of course I do not like being called "Verome".  |
