Nice websites! (the two posts above)

So you are asking which programs to use to create title images, etc? Well either Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET (or something similar - Basically anything more advanced than MS Paint!). As AnimeDad said, to create a website you don't just create a large image and then upload it (possible, but any viewer with a slow internet connection will have trouble waiting for your page to load). You need to learn how to code a website, starting with simple HTML I would suggest.

Basically to create a efficient website you need to keep the images to the minimum, and using compressed image formats (i.e. not Bitmap). When thinking of designing a website, you really need to think of different image types to use. For example, in some cases you may need a transparent area within the image so that it suits the style of your site, to do this you will need to use either *.gif or *.png, whereas if transparency is not an issue, *.jpg is probably the most suitable (not supporting an alpha channel).

SO - Don't spend ages creating a large header image which will ultimately be wasteful when users find it difficult to access your site. Keep image file sizes to the minimum, therefore using gif and jpg through most of your site.

Hope that helps

I use Dreamweaver and sometimes Frontpage.
In webdesign, Photoshop helps you in making the header and other things but what you really should use to make the template is Dreamweaver. It's quite simple after you've used it several times Wink

I made these with those programs:
