DAN BROWN's "Angels and Demons".
I have not read "Da Vinci Code" yet. But according to my fren, read "Angels and Demons" first, then only proceed to "Da Vinci Code". Because "Da Vinci Code" is more interesting then the "Angels and Demons"...
I bought the whole set of it, together with "Deception Point", Digital Fortness" and those 2 above. 20 paun.
Anyone there read DAN BROWN's book? |

I love Dan Brown's books. I've read them all. I love um, Deception Point the best. Next would be Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress, then Angels and Demons.
Currently, I'm not reading anything, considering how I've been cooped up in exam studies the past few weeks. But I have a pretty good idea I want to reread Prince Caspian from The Chronicles of Narnia just to refresh my memory.
I might just re-read them all. After all, the last time I read them was when I was like, 10. XD |

Yes, The Chronicles of Narnia are awesome. You can't really call yourself a fantasy fan if you haven't read 'em all. I read them in second grade, i think? Boy, was I obsessed. Even before Harry Potter. Which I love by the way.
As for recommendations - READ WICKED (by Gregory Maguire). It's one of the best books I've ever read. Also the musical rocks.
Hmm. Let's see. Oh, if you like Artemis Fowl, you should read Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series. (Boy spy series.) It's sort of like the younger version of Dan Brown's books.
And Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card! It's THE science fiction/boy genius book. There's an entire series, but I think that's the best one.

I was obsessed with books before i was obsessed with music... and I still kind of like books more. There is a phenomenon in and of itself |

Les Miserables. by Victor Hugo
Most teens should already know this book because it's like required reading material at school. But recently, thsi book has become one of my favorites.
It's about this ex-convict Jean Valjean who committed a crime for his sister's starving children; he stole a loaf of bread. Later, he met a bishop, who was very kind to him, told him that he no longer belonged to the evil; he belongs to God.
Jean Valjean promised that he will become a honest man.
So the story goes how he took a child with him; how he was able to love again because of the child.........
----------------
Even though I've finished reading this book, I am still rereading it. Many insightful aspects in the book that many of us often encounter, or will in the future. |

I really enjoy reading books from the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. The one i've just finished reading is The Golden Compass. The stories are really good, and have a fantasy touch to them. Science fiction, i believe? Yeah.
The Golden Compass is about a girl named Lyra (who is also the protagonist in the other two books of the trilogy). Lyra is just a normal girl, who is predestined to save the world. She doesn't know this, and has to many thing in order to fulfil this pre-planned destiny. In Lyra's world, every human has their own Daemon, which is their soul in the shape of an animal. Humans & daemons are linked for life (making the two one-whole). The book covers the relationship between humans & daemons, and also about something called Dust.
I don't want to give anything else away, but it's a really good book! About 355 pages? Not too bad tough . |

I used to read a lot of books at once, but now that I'm a mom, I can only do one at a time. Right now, it's "Son of a Witch," by Gregory Maguire. It's the sequel to the book "Wicked," which was a great story about the Wicked Witch of the West. My other favorite book by Gregory is "Mirror Mirror," which was, as you can imagine, about Snow White.
As for books I'd suggest? "Superstud," by Paul Feig. It is so funny.
Also, anything by Francesca Lia Block, if you like stories told in a whimsical, cutesy sort of way. I've read all of her books at least once, but most of them I'll go back and read again when the mood strikes. If you're gonna read FLB books, though, start with "Weetzie Bat." It's the first in her Weetzie Bat series, but my favorite in that whole series was always "Witch Baby."
Anyway, there you go. I absolutely love books, so there's a lot I could suggest just off the top of my head, but I'll just leave it at those. :) |

Right now I am reading a book called Wizrd. It is ok. I read it when I was in 4th grage though. But I think its reading level is for 12-14 or so. they cuss and have horny little 13 year olds in it *shakes head* but anyways.....
Quote: From Publishers Weekly
In this uneven, but ultimately effective first novel, 13-year-old Bryce Willems and his 10-year-old stepsister Megan move with their parents to Pinon Rim, a once booming Arizona mining town in the midst of a "renaissance" caused by the influx of artists like Bryce's father. But strange things are starting to happen in the sleepy community: a Navajo boy is found drowned, an old man and his dog go berserk, killing a sheriff's deputy. Then Megan, exploring a cave behind the Willem house, inadvertently unleashes the full fury of a powerful ancient spirit of the underworld. Bryce learns the Navajo legend of the spirit and also discovers that the spirit's wrath and not the failure of the Wizard mine, made Pinon Rim a ghost town a century before. He must find a way to stop the cycle before history repeats itself. The novel's first half drags, burdened by too many characters and too much exposition, so that the ominous events that are meant to build suspense are nearly buried in verbiage. Nonetheless, all the laboriously spun threads furiously unwind in a hair-raising, fast-paced climax that makes the rest worthwhile. Zell has a sure touch when presenting Navajo lore, and his young characters are exceptionally well drawn and engaging.

I just finished Pride and Prejudice a day ago. I really loved it. I'm reading The count of Monte Cristo for class but I just can't get into it. When Abbe was in it I read through it so quickly, but now that I'm past it ...blech. So many of Edmonds costumes. |

| Will Ferguson's Hitching Rides with Buddha tells of his adventure across Japan. He runs into amazing people and sees amazing things. What Ferguson is really after though is the Cherry Blossoms. A strange phenomenon occurs in Japan every year known as the Sakura Zensen. The Cherry Blossom tress across Japan bloom together created a sort of pink petal tidal wave that shoots to the northern tip of Japan, Ferguson wants to travel with them. I highly recommend this book for people interested in Japanese culture, the hitchhiking concept, or people who just want a good read. |
