I did a search and I don't think this has been done before so here we go! I decided to include some songs like Momo no Hanabira that are close enough to being ballads too.
My favorites are
1. Hoshikuzu
2. Daisuki da yo
3. Momo no Hanabira
4. Natsu Sora |

NOOOOO...I can't pick one! In no particular order:
1. "Shabondama"
2. "Daisukidayo"
3. "Kuroge Wagyuu Joshio Tanyaki 735en" (Does that count?)
4. "Daisukidayo." |

Sorry everyone they wouldn't let me put all of those on there! I had three others I was going to add. Planetarium, Amaenbo and 735 Yen. It only allows ten |

Daisuki Da yo & Sakuranbo got me hooked
Surprisingly I never liked Kingyo Hanabi until I started to sing along |

| Just to let you know a ballad is like a slow paced song with usually better vocalization (don't hold me to that though some rock songs can have great vocals too) |

So difficult!!
I've always maintained that Daisuki dayo. is one of my favorite songs, as well as Hoshi Kuzu (and more recently Neko ni Fuusen ), but when it comes right down to it, I must say that Kingyo Hanabi is an incredible ballad.
While I prefer Daisuki dayo.'s video because of the story, Ai's voice seems smoother in Kingyo Hanabi. Hoshi Kuzu's simplicity is one of the best parts for me, but that and it's shorter length makes it a little hard to compare alongside the other ballads. (And Neko seems like it stands in a diff. catagory on its own--but then many of Ai's songs seem to as well... )
Kingyo Hanabi is so rich--lyrics, melody, phrasing, background, etc... Plus, the short film is so touching... |

Yeah, I agree, this is a tough choice here. I can't pick just one myself also. So in no particular order:
1) Shabondama (this is the first song I heard from Ai.. if I remembered correctly)
2) Daisukidayo
3) Friends
4) Kingyo Hanabi
5) Kuroge Wagyu Joshio Tanyaki 735 Yen
6) Momo no Hanabira (hmm... I wonder if this counts as well?) |
