this year i'm going to be spending my winter vacation back in hong kong (finally!) and one of the top item on my shopping list is a cell phone. i was wondering if anyone know good models that can be used in canada. i don't really mind the functions on it, but i would really really like to get a flip phone
thanks for all your help! |

| most cell phones can be used in 3 difernt regions as long you have a SIM card but im kinda biased cuz i like Nokia's but the 6360 looks really nice to me personally but its not really that much of a business phone cuz of the way the screeen can flip and rotate and take videos depending which way ur screen has been rotated or you could try the Motorola V3 razer but both these phones are relativly new so they would cost more but theres always older models if u just want a phone but this is only my opinion but i hope it helps and have fun in HK |

I use a Panasonic X60. It's small and very handy and it's a flip phone. It has a camera though it's not the greatest quality but it's quite fun to use at times I do highly suggest this little cell phone though. It's really convenient. |

i suppose in canada uses the gsm network? then u should be able to find compatible ones in hong kong. as earlier mentioned, most phones are tri-band and can work across different networks.
the k800i and w800i are very very good. they looks really great and the camera function ain't bad. essentially they are the same phone, but w800i is the official walkman phone and comes with a more space on the memory card.. the w800 is also very new and so a lot more expensive
the motorola v3 razr is an excellant phone, and the phone is actually much cheaper than it was released a year back. but motorola recently came out with black version. it looks nice though it might be more expensive. i'm not sure about that though.
i really like nokia for the interface, but the recent offerings have been really disappointing. however i'm kind of stuck with it as i simply cannot get used to the messaging system in other phones. this might not be relevant to u as u live in canada? after all we singaporeans are the world's biggest users of SMS. =) so if u are like me, u might want to consider the panasonic x800. i heard from my friend that the messaging is exactly the same as that of nokia phones. however i never got to try myself.
u should check out http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handphones/ as it's a very good resource! |

thank you all your feedbacks! i google up all the ones that was mention just to see what they look like (i didn't read the detail functions yet).
i like samsung E700 and the two sony ericsson best. i don't konw any one who use panasonic (i didn't even know they made cell phones!) so i think i'll look into that as well. motorola v3 is probably the only one i really don't like because of the key pads design.
and thank you fang, for the link! i'll definity check that out. |

i think i'm kinda outdated to handphones stuff since the day i got my O2:XDA II PDA phone.
well, if i want to give a suggestion, go for a PDA phone, altough it is expensive but it is worth every single dollars as it is 3 in 1 package. Phone function, pc and also can be your iPod too. |

the e700 ain't bad. basically in this thread you have everyone's favourite phones i guess.
but if you want to up your cool factor, just get the sony k800. it is class. and if you aren't fussy about digital cameras, at 2.0 megapixels the sony phones are quite good! |

I have the w800~ It's awsome. xD Very convenient for me since now I no longer need to carry an mp3 player. ! I'd recommend getting this phone. It's tons of features packed into a pretty and tiny package. I've been loving it. |

i recommend a vodafone phone!
linkie: http://www.vodafone.jp/english/products/domestic_3g.html
this is the series of collections i like
my favourite is the Vodafone 903SH
the camera option is great, the screen is flippable n great for self portraits
i hav seen the white one in person n its not lik that pearlie beige colour
its lik an ipod the whiteness
the other models are good too
one of my frd is using 802SH and she loves it
another frd is using 902SH n now on the site it says sold out but in HK it shud b everywhere
another factor to consider is "shui for" which means some ppl buy it n resell
its cheaper than other stores usually but no warranty
if u want to b on safe side get normal one with warranty
but lik warranties really mean nothing to me
b/c i wunt go back to HK to fix my phone you know?!
Think about vodafone
another cool thing is that 903SH has a display control on its headset
you can read which song you are listening to
i think its so cool n yeah just check it out~
im planning to get a vodafone too~ no doubt bout it
sony ericsson is gud, i hav one right now...but its kinda broken ><
so i dunt realli lik it anymore |
