tsumetai.ame wrote: Well, for reflection... hmm, maybe an idea is to make an Ai stencil and then use black spray-paint and spray it onto a white paper, that'd be cool. Making the stencils takes really long and sometimes they don't turn well and you have to keep remaking it, though. But I have a feeling this is a drawing competition... haha.
Sign, too bad the drawing competition required pieces in painting or in sketch form. Which my style of drawing doesn't suit. My style is said to be... Black and white right? I preder to draw in black pen then in pencil only because pencil sketching doesn't give me a stong contrast to express what i need to. Where else in black ink the contrast is clear, and i can always do my favourite curve ruler style for the hair.
So tsumetai.ame, can u show me a piece or little of ur work regardling the pencil shading technique? I'd like to learn a thing or two from u. So far i can only draw in blacn and white, that's why... I'd like to learn some technique in coloring too. The most i learnt is from reading comics from Hong Kong. Their coloring technique is indeed superb. Anyway i have a few illustration books from jap aritists, like Evangelion. I think that is my kind of thing.
Any recommendation on what kind of material is good in painting? And the paper as well.

| Yes, I'll try to take you a picture. I don't like that picture that much, but after I drew that one I never drew anything again. |

actually the curve ruler is used for architecture purpose. ask Jason he might know it better... i have been using it to draw since i was 16. And my elder sister's frens got freaked out bcoz i was using those curve rulers, which they used to draw buildings, to draw comic... haha.
not much of ppl notice the importance of the curve ruler. But if u observe most of the manga, curve ruler is a must ot draw almost all of the curvy lines. |

That's amazing! I'll never be able to use those curvy rulers [ even though they look SO awesome to play with =D ] because I lack patience.
But I really really like your work. You must've put alot of effort in this and man the amount of pen you used O__o. I absolutely adore the hair as well, it looks very natural with the shading and highlights. Well done! *gazes in dumbstruck... ness* |
