I'm a left handed, that explains the subject...
My 13th drawing of the year... so how do u think? I do not have photoshop software to edit it, so i just let it be natural - just like that...
anyway this is the pencil sketch, where everything began with...
my tools are quite simple, as u can see here:
1. Pencil
2. Eraser
3. Pilot G tech 0.3
4. Pilot G1 0.5 (rarely used)
5. A set of curve ruler for Ai's hair
6. Straight ruler for measurements
7. Ai's picture for reference

I also like the pencil sketch more because it looks pure.
I always admires the people who have the ability to draw well like you.
Maybe next time you can try to color it, then it'll has another different feeling.
Thank you for sharing and hope you can keep drawing.
I like it! |

i cant find photoshop software to do extra effects including coloring and all. And my desktop is not fixed yet, i'm using my sister's laptop now. Once my desktop is fixed, once i got photoshop, then i'll do more drawings!
Most of the times the sketch looks better than the ink version. Once i make a copy and draw it in ink, the outcome is different for both sketched and inked. Somehow this drawing requires a lot of curve ruler techniques tat i've learnt from HK comics...
My tools are too simple, i need more tools! And also computer support to enhance it. Mmm, i'll try my best to get a photoshop CD. |

OMG! WICKED RULERS! I should get myself some too ^___^
I really adore your drawings! I can never do such realistic ones. Ai looks very sexy in your picture
Even though you don't have fancy photoshop software your black & white drawings are still beautiful with or without them! |

This doesn't really resemble Ai, but I think it's an excellent piece of art nonetheless.
I'll get the critiques out of the way first (which are very minor): some angles are a bit squarish (like her right shoulder), and the part in her hair is a little too straight (it should zig zag a bit more).
And now for the good stuff...
I own Pilot G-Tec pens and I know that they can be fairly tricky to work with (you can't hesitate or the ink will run), so I'm quite impressed with the quality of your linework -- especially the hair. I really like the way the lines flow with the hair, the shadows, and the way you suggested the highlights by leaving some parts empty.
Nice job on the face too. It's quite difficult to do facial features in pen, because it's very difficult to control the darkness. Good depth in the eyes.
I'd really like to see some more of your art. It seems you're quite talented! |

Great job! there's a few places where the angles are a bit too square like the shoulders and the chin, but otherwise it's great! *two thumbs up* |

actually she is wearing a coat, something like that. That explains y her shoulder looks imbalanced. i was supposed to draw more patterns at her coat and shirt but i didnt, lazy...
I'm goin to edit it, draw some effect and texture for the coat...
Actually most of the pieces the sketch looks better.
As stormchild said, by drawing in ink there're lots of things can't be expressed...
I'm still trying to improve my work. at least nowday i'm not drawing violent and erotic drawings like i did during college days...
i like to draw girls. Bcoz to express the femininity requires a lot of teachniques, which i like to challege for. When i was in secondary school i drew a lot of samurai x and king of fighters, not tat hard to draw. But draw girls... sigh, hard... |

I know exactly what you mean. There are a lot of very subtle features that make up a face, and if one of them is slightly off, it can change the whole expression. That's the part I'm most interested in -- the expression. I want to make people wonder, "what is that person thinking and feeling?"
Of course, the shape of the eyes and eyebrows has a big effect, but there are much more subtle areas -- for example, the corners of the mouth. That part is very delicate, and has to be exactly right, or the original expression might be lost. |

exactly stormchild... u got what am i trying to mean.
It's really difficult to draw bcoz a minor mistake will coz the whole drawing to have a different feeling. Even the eye bow deviate 1mm also will change the whole work. But that's the greatest part of the challenge right?
anyway, at my opinion i think this piece doesnt look like Ai, and i shall try to draw another one when i'm inspired and when i'm free... haha. |

I agree with stormchild, it didnt give me the feeling that she's Ai
but the drawing is gorgeous! only the mouth is kinda small and its a bit angular at some parts.. but its all great! I wont point out any this or that since I cant even draw a dtraight line properly so.. lol nice work |
