Hiya guys! I'm back from Japan after a week spent there. How I wish I can spend the rest of my life in Japan! But here I am back at home. Well anyhow, I'm still glad cos' this trip has been fruitful. Fruitful in a sense I bought many Ai stuffs! I was amazed how readily I forked out my cash whenever I ran into Ai merchandises... Spent about 16000 Yen (S$240)... Makes up more than 1/3 of my total expenses! Well I included a pic of all the stuff I bought to share with you guys. Edit: Errzzz, I have problem putting the pic up. Anyone can help me out?
1) 2 medium sized laminated pictures at the background. Probably can be found in Singapore too.
2) Jam Punch Tour 2005 DVD
3) Ai's Photobook. I bought this in Singapore actually. Brought it along to Japan in high hopes of meeting Ai for a signature. Haha I was a little foolish to think that I can meet Ai in person.
4) Tokyo Friends DVD. Hidden behind the photobook. This is what burned my pocket. 9800 Yen is no joke. :S And I only realised that it would not have subtitles after I bought it. Oh well, it's okay. Shall treat this expense as supporting Ai! Alot of nice goodies in it too such as postcards and nice casings. If only I brushed up a little on my Japanese...
5) Ai's 2006 Calendar! It's the bigger roll to the right. It's a neat surprise for me on my 2nd last night in Japan. Costs 1600 Yen. Rather reasonable I guess. Now I can see Ai for the whole of 2006! Anyone wants pics of the calendar, feel free to ask. I will open up the calendar once I settle down at home tomorrow.
6) Ai's big poster. It's the smaller roll to the right. Luckily I spotted this poster hanging at the store I bought it at. I asked the shopkeeper for big posters and he said he doesn't have it when there's one so big hanging around.
7) Ai's Memopad. The book with the colorful Ai Otsuka words. Would come in handy when I go to university in a year's time.
8) Ai's File Folder. The flat thing lying below the memopad. It's very pretty with many pictures of Ai all over the file.
Well, that's about it. Feel free to ask anything regarding my trip, places in Japan or the Japanese lifestyle. If you're interested, that is. Hehez. Somehow, there's something about Japan that captivates me. After I get out of the army in another year's time, I'll probably go to Japan again for a longer period. Maybe a month or so? Anyone living in Japan have a free room for rental or knows any cheap hotels in Tokyo, please help me! Arigato Gozaimasu! |

I wish I can go to Japan. I'm jealous
Aww, the pics aren't working It's cool how much you spent on Ai! Wow that Tokyo Friends DVD is so expensive! Maybe you should use imageshack for your pictures? I would really like to see all the Ai merchandise! |

Okies! Thanks for the suggestion! Got it up using Imageshack. Still can't get the image to work tho'. But the URL works fine for me. Hope it's the same for you guys! PS: Took it just when I reached home. I placed all the items on my bed. Erased much of the background for privacy reasons. Sorry for the poor editing. |

ah! i see it now! Thanks
OMG they all look so...so...spectacular! Wow, what a nice non-cd Ai collection! That Ai calendar was only 1600 yen! Oh wow! SO cheap!
I like how you set up all your stuff all neat and stuff, not just lying on the floor, lol. |

Hahaha... Just a quick arrangement after I put down my bags... Wanted to share this with you guys before I go to sleep in about an hour's time. Yep the calendar is rather cheap but considering it isn't anything official, the price is reasonable. I will upload the calendar images soon!
Oh another short note, Ai is getting real popular in Japan! During my one week stay, I've heard Planetarium about 4-5 times in music stores, seen Planetarium PV on a huge screen of a mall, heard Happy Days on the radio, seen Jam Punch Tour 2005 in HMV. Everywhere I go, I'm reminded of Ai! (of cos' except the times I'm out in Mt. Fuji and the various temples haha) Go Ai-chan! She'll get big real soon! |

lol, guys he said it wasn't an official calendar, that's why it was so cheap. I'm sure if it was official it'll cost closer to about 50 USD -_-;; so expensive...
However, I do think it's about time that she had an official calendar! I would love to see (or possibly own...) an Ai calander! woot~ |

Me too! When I saw the YesAsia calendar sale I looked for one from her. I was pretty disappointed that she didn't have one.
Oh well, 2005 isn't over, YET. We can still hope. |

wow!! i'm gettin real jealous here! if i'm lucky i can go
to japan in April. I've been living in japan for a month but i didn't realli know anything about the rental costs and stuff. as i think u know japan's room are quite small and expensive...i think my mum paid about 80,000 yen for my room. it was VERY very small but at least they have a bed and TV for u! 5 min to the train station, took me around half an hour by train to go to shinjuku...
p's: i hav a question...where did u buy ai's stuff..like where is the shop...anywhere in shinjuku harajuku or shibuya?! i realli wanna know..never found them! |

I found all the stuff I bought exclusively in Harajuku. My tour guide told my friend and I that this place has stuff we want so we spent sometime exploring Harajuku. Exiting from the station, crossing the road, there will be one shop selling ai's stuff. It's on the 2nd floor but it should be relatively easy to spot with all the posters of Japanese singers on the walls on 1st floor.
Once done with the initial shopping there, turn right from the doorstep of the first shop and walk down the road until you see an opening on your right leading you to a street of shops. Well, I forgot exactly how to go. But you'll see obvious telltale signs, leading you to a round structured mall with the store on the 1st floor. Done shopping there, adjacent on both sides of this store, there will be alleyways of little stores. These stores sell stuff too. But I wouldn't know how many Ai stuffs they have since they're closed by the time I found the shops. :S Hope I've helped.
80000 Yen for a month? Wow that's very expensive... You went alone or with friends? This coming April, you'll be living in Japan for another month? Then I should be the one being jealous of you. Ahhh, I need super budget lodging if I intend to go for a month's stay. Tell me all of your experiences living in Japan pls! Regarding expenses and travelling etc. Thanks! |

Yeah it's the Takeshita Road, as recommended by someone who replied to my previous thread. Not to say it's many but enough to get by and to satisfy your J-Idol needs! Living alone or with friends in Japan sounds rather interesting, but a rather expensive adventure. Alright, I shall add you in MSN. Pls tell me all you know! I'm starting to gather information 1 year beforehand so that when the time comes, I won't be so lost. Haha! |
